I'm confused why the Celtics settled for Paul George and what is their game plan here.

Celtics are idiots and if Embiid stays healthy the Sixers should be a top seed.

Apparently the anonymous analytics guy who said Brown was the 7th best player on the team was not lying and the league is aware of this fact. Either that or there's some Aaron Hernandez level ****.

Right on time. I knew Boston would put out some puff pieces once the outrage happened.

Mike Conley on fumes, Paul George on fumes, Mitchell Robinson at Center hitting 29% of his FTs and maybe STARTING.... WTF, Boston?

Jabari is a positive contract. We could have done FVV and DFS and a few pics and kept Jabari and Sengun and still got Brosn lol madness man

That was the biggest issue. You simply cannot trade any positive salary (jabari, sengun) AND picks for him. If you are trading those guys you have to get picks from Boston, and that wasn’t gonna happen. That’s why this wild trade happened.

It's fascinating just how poor Browns value was around the league.

I am an analytics guys, and even I think the perception around him is low.

I think it probably goes beyond basketball. I know he's been very, very outspoken about his political thoughts and doesn't have much a filter and it probably rubbed upper management the wrong way. So much that he became too "toxic" to other teams.

Brown stopped caring and became more public on his world views. Lot of anti- anything, despite NBA and the league made him a very rich guy.

Anti Stephen A (that one's fine)
    Anti analytics
Close to Kyrie on some world views.
The moping grew over the years, all star snubs...etc

Used to be years without techs, now he gets them as frequent as the other stars.

Lot of new money. Also paired up with KPJ's ex, who could be reinforcing his views.

I was entertaining the idea of getting him, now am thinking maybe it's just for the best. Philly got a good player. Expensive, but good.

This certainly is gonna be an interesting follow as far as player impact analytics go this season.

All of the surface level stats make Brown look like a top 15, maybe top 10 star. His player impact stats have often been extremely underwhelming relative to that.

I've usually been in the camp that impact numbers don't properly value being an primary scorer, but if these results follow him to Philly it will be hard to ignore.

The biggest reason Brown didn’t get a bigger return is: 143 million over 2 seasons.

That is the extension number Brown is eligible and wants. The Celtics didn’t believe Brown would play quiet without the extension. So before he demands a trade after being told “no” on $71,500,000 a season - the Celtics moved him.

Man they need to do something about these contracts. 71 for a single player is insane I don't care who that player is. It's unfortunate because JB is a really good player.
