Good responses, but it's not a popularity contest. Ben Affleck's Batman beat Superman.

Adam West dressed as Batman for the filming of a road safety ad for children, 1967.

If we're serious about the question:

    Keaton/Bale/Pattinson in some order

Adam West, because he's the old school classic, no matter how goofy

    All others, in some order

The only crappy Batman was George Clooney. Val Kilmer was an underrated Batman. His Batman deserved a serious director and serious actors for the villains. Ben Affleck, who was the only Batman with intimidating size, could have made a proper Batman film if he had been given the chance to make his own movie. It would have been dark and violent like the video games. It's just difficult to make a bad Batman film because the character, with his villain lineup, is basically foolproof, like Spider-Man. Superman is the complete opposite.

    Basically my list.

Adam West is his own category but was amazing watching the old reruns as a child. The fights with sound effects written on the screen were classic. :D

    My ranking and explanation:
Bale (the best, Nolan made Batman come alive like never before, first time it truly felt like a comic book Batman come alive)
Affleck (highly underrated, great job as the older and more jaded Batman, beat Superman, by far the most comic superhero Batman of all)
Keaton (Great job as both Batman and Wayne, held back by the times of the movie, as a comic book fan it just didn't sit with me like a real Batman)
Pattison (could rise, only one movie, but a really good one, more detective Batman than action Batman though)
Kilmer (Was better than people give him credit, the silliness screwed him over)
West (Silly Batman to me, but the Batman in many people's eyes)
The rest - Clooney (horrible job), Wilson (before my time), Lowery (before my time)

Here is another one: Best Penguin, Devito or Farrell? Discuss
