    Let's get the issue straight.

Answer this simple direct question EXACTLY how it is asked.... yes or no.

Do you think the Astros should try batting Meyers somewhere besides 8th ???

Let's see how honest you are......

Players do get reputations for being slow/fast starters, slow/fast finishers.

You guys are responding to everything as if I'm guaranteeing success at not-8th. I'm simply saying try something else, especially something that has worked the past 1 and 1/2 years.

Any GM would be fired immediately for batting a player 9th instead of 8th.

Listen to the foolishness people will say to be right. LOL. They can't help themselves.

    What a ridiculous comparison.

But hey.... that's what it takes when your argument is ridiculous along with it.
    __

BTW- Every manager, Espada included, has moved players around in a lineup.

Name ONE who's been fired specifically for that. Should be easy since your position is so "not dumb".

    I'll wait....

If that is truly what you think Correa is, you are baseball ignorant.

Yes he is great with the glove and gets hurt a lot.

But he is very above average with the bat and very difficult and expensive to replace.

Correa finished the season with a 122 wRC+ which is 80th out of 363 players with 100+ PAs. Thats 78th percentile. By definition that is well above average.

Last year 461 MLB hitters had 100+ PAs and 80 of them had a 122 or better wRC+. As an Astro Correa had a 122 wRC+. Thats 82nd percentile.

Since the start of the 2024 season, 185 hitters have 1000+ PAs. Correa has a 124 wRC+ which is 38th. 79th percentile.

There is no legitimate way to fit Correa into "league average bat" no matter what your opinion or agenda.

    300 miles away from Buffalo.
It's quicker for me to get to the beach in Maine than make that god awful drive.
Sadly, my in laws live there, so I have to do that trek about 5 times a year.

I dont know the numbers, but Parades is just as good with the bat when you take into account that he works counts and takes walks at a high rate. Parades also hits for more power and most importantly stays healthy. I can make a case that Correa's numbers are somewhat skewed because he has fewer AB's due to injury. Correa's real value comes with his leadership and glove IMHO.

I never said Paredes' bat is not as good as Correa's.

In fact they are quite different but probably very comparable in overall value.

I just took exception to Correa being called a " league average bat" which is clearly not true.

It also has nothing to do with Paredes.

I have no issue with anything else that was said.

Injuries are why I consider Correa to be league avg . Availability is the greatest ability sometimes.
