Kyrie for FVV works straight up for some reason.

You trade for FVV to get rid of a longer term deal to help your team accelerate rebuilding.

Dallas could get rid of Kyrie....for FVV and maybe an expiring or future pick - and save themselves next year's cap room and Kyrie's contract is the same as KD's they could both opt in NEXT year for their final year.

And Houston could keep all their up and coming players, this is a risk worth taking.

It means Fred is going to look out for Fred and that he doesn't owe anyone anything.

It was always inevitable - a guy nearing his mid 30's that had his knee "explode" a year ago, and had multiple tears is not going to turn down $25,000,000.

The Rockets will have paid Fred $132,000,000 at the end of this year.

The Rockets are paying the trio of Capela/Adams/DFS $33,000,000 this season. Meh

11M for a big man vet isnt anything crazy lol thats the going rate for vets.

DFS has been a bust but Adams was amazing when he wasnt injured and Capela was serviceable and filled a role.

Fred opting is actually good for both because if he sucks we can get rid of him either naturally since he is expiring or via trade at the deadline. Its far better than if he had taken a cheaper stretched deal like say 13M/3 cuz that means we are stuck with him for longer.

Touche - let me say it this way. It would take the Rockets being monumentally stupid to offer an extension to a 33 with limited athleticism coming off a major injury.

When it is all said and done he will walk with $130,000,000 from the Rockets over 3 seasons of actual play…. At least Fred is supposedly a nice guy.

Have to say, following the post season - I did call the possibility that Kyrie comes to Houston. Will see what the Rockets ultimately end up doing but Kyrie would be invaluable to this team for Amen or Reed.

When reporters reached out to Fred VanVleet for comment on his social media being scrubbed, he said he did not have time to give a statement as he was too busy diving into a room in his house with one hundred and thirty two millions dollars in it.

Also as a heads up - pay close attention to the Kawhi situation in LA - seems the Clips arent committing to extending him. SAS are actively trying to recruit him back (but LA does NOT want Fox alone). Hou could find themselves in the mix is a multi team trade scenario.

surprised the Clippers would even want Fox. That’s a negative value contract.

Nobody talk about Steven Adams whose salary is 13 million a season.

Adams possibly won't play games next season either. Lol

I'm not mad at Fred. He was in the right place, at the right time, and got handed the bag. He was always meant to bridge the gap, and that happened.

I'm not even mad at Fred for signing the extension. If the Rockets finally hit ya boy up, I'll be signing that contract too and disappointing all of you.

I've had absolutely enough of Stone ****ing around with this though. He needs to be wearing a new jersey before July.

I think you guys are getting way too emotional about all the FVV stuff. Anyone can make a change to their social media stuff anytime they like for any reason. Who cares? Fred has been a good guy throughout his tenure here. We were the worst team in basketball and he helped turn things around. I don’t see where Fred has done anything wrong here. Fred may be staying or he may be leaving. I don’t really care what happens. I just want what makes the most sense for the Rockets. It’s really out of Fred’s hands now. Let’s see what Stone and Patrick do. They are the ones in charge of building the team. Let’s not forget this is all business for these guys at this time of the year.

I think Kyrie wouldn't do very well here. He too much of a head case, yeah when healthy just straight out killer nba player, but I think his time as sailed.

Durant is about 1or 2! years away from being out the door himself, can he even stay healthy for the entire playoffs????

It would almost be best to see if rockets could trade Durant for younger role players, that fit with the rebuild tbh..

Why would he hurts like that? We need the cap room for a franchise player.

He bridged the gap. Unfortunately there's only a Gap at the other end of the gap.
