POR gonna need 4 or 5 more balls to satisfy this group. They're going to try for 120-plus a night and run teams into the dirt. Exact opposite of Ime's 90s approach.

That would give them 3 max-salary players. That would be impossible if the Bucks weren’t paying half of Dame’s salary.

Clingan and Camara are going to have to play Rock, Paper, Scissors before every game. Winner has to guard Lilliard's man as well as his own. Loser has to guard Deni and Ja's man as well as his own.

and didnt he have some funny business on a contract for Nene - that the league threw back in our face....?

Morey was always trying to juke the system...

Ja is an all-star talent whose value is at all-time low and fills the need of our weakest position. Why Stone didn't try harder is beyond me.

I’ll tell you why….because Stone sucks and doesn’t know basketball. It’ll be another 30 years before we win a title with these buffoons running the show!

Pretty good work by the Grizzlies the last couple years. Ja lost his mind so the Grizzlies accepted fate and embraced a rebuild.

They moved Bane and JA and Jackson… and now have 7 future first rounders, Two pick swaps and Cedric Coward and Cam Boozer.

The funniest part is that Stone had the #2,#3#4,#10, #14 picks over the last few years and Morey had only one pick inside the top 15 - and the two most valuable players taken both were taken by Morey - Maxey and Edgecomb!

Think about it … pretty sad.

I think it speaks more to the crapshoot nature of the draft...
I mean kudos to DM for making the right pick.... but...

"Maxey was widely projected to be a mid-to-late first-round pick, with most mock drafts and experts placing him between 15 and 20 overall. Many analysts considered him a potential lottery pick, with some projections going as high as No. 11 or No. 12."
and DM took him at 21... so i'd say he took the guy that fell to him...

VJ was a ballsier pick at 3... although was projected top 6

    Stone took the consensus picks...
but props to him for going and getting Sengun...
I still question Reeds ranking and the pick...
Bari was supposedly going #1 and obviously Stone was ready to take Paolo at 3...

    Dumars got Darko'ed..
    MJ got Kwame'd...

    its all such a crapshoot...

Maxey wasn’t drafted by Morey, he was drafted by Elton Brand.

I count 11 total FRPs (2 more picks than the Rockets, and same amount of swaps). I do like Boozer, Coward, and Spencer. They have a lot of young depth. I am interested to see if Ty Jerome was legit when he was healthy last year. I could see the Rockets doing something similar in a year or two.

I see a very similar issue with the Grizzlies as I do the Rockets in that their top-end talent just probably isn't good enough, and a lot of their young players are going to be more expensive in 2-3 years (Rockets 1-2).

I don't expect the Grizziles to be tanking this year.

    FALSE
Daryl Morey drafted Maxey and right after the pick was made, Morey called him a "blue chip prospect" and he was willing to trade up to get him.

I forgot that draft was done in November. Damn you Stone for not starting that draft with a pick!

Stone wouldn't have drafted Maxey anyway----- he has had like a dozen 1st round picks and a handful of lottery picks and has never drafted or developed a player as good as Maxey is. If he had the #1 pick when Wemby or Flag were available, he would take them.... but overall the draft history of Stone has been mid.

Morey has had his misses as well, he passed on Leonard because he felt he would take 2-3 years to develop and wanted someone to compete right away... but he also hasn't had a lot of high lottery picks.

I'm convinced that Sengun developed despite Stone, not because of him.

I think that the Grizzlies got a total of 7 first rounders for Bane and Jackson, but I am going off memory and could be wrong.

Agree with you that there is a question about whether the Rockets and Grizzlies have enough elite talent - I guess, it could come down to Boozer. I think he will be very good, but not sure he will be a guy that is a top 5-10 player in the league.

The Rockets IMO should look at moving Jabari, Sengun etc. for draft picks.... but I know the owner and HC wouldn't tolerate it.

Sengun can be annoying - but he is very self-motivated and works hard to improve.

Sengun showed up early every single morning for two years to get practice in with John Lucas under Silas.

Sengun was in a different country - a different culture - and learning the language at like 19 years old..... and he never was late, he never complained... every morning.

While KPJ was screaming at Rockets employees, kicking trash cans and balls and purposely disrupting practice...... while Jalen Green didn't show up for mandatory morning practice, while Jalen Green screwed around........ Sengun pushed to be coached harder.

Sengun when to his coaches and asked for more- Lucas has discussed how Sengun was overlooked but kept asserting himself.
