Haven't Stone learned enough about taking on OLD LAKERS by signing DFS last yr? Leave that trash alone

GET YOUNGER...Ziaire Williams would be a better signing

I remember Rod Stickland coming here and was clearly out of shape and they even mention it when we played against Orlando in Orlando. They were saying he was playing against guys on their lunch breaks. LMAO We are mad at Stone, but we had some bleak times with CD as well.

A team that can’t score goes out and signs an old guy who can’t shoot? Brilliant

I remember it well! I also remember Mark Jackson and the elder Brunson running on less than tread in their final moments in Houston.

They both had that old man build, bloated, muscle definition gone and look like they are moving in slow motion.

We already have Okogie who shoots almost exactly the same from the three. So our team has decided to try and double down on defensive players who are shitty at the 3. Awesome. Just great foresight. The only thing that will make this better is if Fred is on minutes restriction starting the season.

If he opts out it is because his agent has a deal with another team in place, there is no way he would opt out of $25M to bet on himself unless there was a contract extension from the Rockets or an imminent deal with another team.

That's exactly how Ime likes his guards, completely incapable of spacing the floor.

He never spoke in that manner so not sure why you chose to go this route when mocking him.

Smart wouldn't be my first choice, but I'd far prefer him to FVV, if only because I think he won't demand shots. The last couple years with the Rockets, FVV averaged around 13 shots a game, whereas Smart as averaged closer to 7. Also, Smart averaged about 28 mpg with the Lakers, whereas FVV averaged 35+ mpg with us. Smart just seems like a guy who will be more deferential and more amenable to being a rotational piece while also providing great defense.

I get Smart isn't the greatest 3 point shooter, but I also think it's a touch overblown. He's good enough that defenders can't sag off, and that shows up in his 3 point shot diet, which over the course of his career has been split between "Open" and "Wide Open" 3s. That's compared to a guy like Amen, who generally will only take "Wide Open" 3s and still has a sub-30 3p%. In other words, Smart won't help our spacing, but I don't think he'll drag it down, either.

To put things in perspective, let's say we sign Smart and he plays 70 games and shoots 5 3s a game. The difference between him shooting at a .33 clip and a .38 clip is the difference of about .75 ppg.

I’m ok with this, as long as we are using FVV in a trade package for a legit upgrade like Kawhi or Brown.
