Framber still continuing from last September...... *not winning* when the Astros are involved. Tigers 0-2
Winning a 4-game is like a sweep. It would offset one loss from earlier this year. Astros can truly gain 500 ground tomorrow. Enter, Hunter. .
We have to and will win this final. Hunter v terrible Flaherty with rested Yordan. Just please control the zone Astros because Flaherty just wants to land that breaking ball on the plate time after time. And please Hunter just throw strikes and let your stuff eat. Would be nice game to rest Altuve and give him reset especially against righty who lives getting batters go out of zone. This division fight might go to the wire with multiple teams this year. Downside being we might be out of gas in WC round but you have a chance with two hot hands on the mound.
The Tigers have one more game against the Astros on Sunday, when they’ll welcome Jack Flaherty back from the injured list. His return will give the Tigers six starters and leave Hinch with a decision whether to go with a six-man rotation or move somebody to the bullpen. “We’re kind of considering all our options,” said Hinch, who also said the Tigers will “probably not” go with six starters heading into next Friday’s off-day in Texas. Casey Mize, Tarik Skubal and Troy Melton will start the Tigers’ upcoming series at Yankee Stadium against the AL East leaders. From there, Hinch said, they’ll decide whether to start Framber Valdez on regular rest next Thursday at Texas or start Keider Montero, who tossed seven scoreless innings against the Astros on Friday. https://www.mlb.com/tigers/news/tigers-bullpen-struggles-continue-in-loss-to-astros
3 of their everyday hitters and all their bench players have sucked ****, Skubal got hurt and Melton sucked in his place, and they’ve had some bad luck.
I like the lefties in the lineup today. Giving Altuve an off day, putting Delgado at 2B vs RH high K pitcher in a Hunter start is smart. I heard Cam took a foul ball off the foot and came out of yesterday's game because of it. Giving him this matchup off is fine but I hope he's OK. The lineup is still weak from #5 down but at least the matchup is good. I fully expect Hunter to bounce back and see a 4-2 win today. It would be nice for Loperfifo, Trammell, and/or Walker to HR today to see momentum turn into a legitimate hot steeak.
