There’s room for a starter, as I don’t think Burrows or Teng have a stranglehold on a rotation spot. Burrows certainly deserves another turn after his last outing, but if Javier or McCullers or Blanco look like they’ll be better I don’t think anyone will argue the move to put them in over Teng, especially since Teng proved to be effective out of the bullpen. But I agree the bar should be high and based on what we’ve seen in their rehab starts Javier and McCullers aren’t meeting the mark quite yet.
May not wanting Javier traveling back and forth for 1 start or bullpen appearance just yet? Wait until they're home and figure it out.
Yordan has played multiple games in the OF this year, even when it wasn't needed. That said, Yordan has only played as little in the outfield as he has because the team didn't even make it out of spring training with all their infielders, so there was no reason to play him out there. I believe they had their whole healthy infield for a week or so sometime in April, and Yordan played LF multiple times in that short stretch until someone got hurt. He even played there twice in the last week on back to back days, once at home, once on the road, despite having all the outfielders healthy and available. Relying on what Dana Brown said when you know he routinely lies or makes things up is silly.
I think Teng is better off pitching 4 innings or less. He gets hammered the second and third time through the order. Someone that can piggy back with him would be good. Javier going through 1 time through the order would good.
Matthews has not played that many games. Seeing Abreu near the top makes me sad. The one that got away. Why do all our guys break out in Boston.
Moniak, Detmers and (welp) Aroldis Chapman are probably the best options at areas of need (that they can realistically get the prospects past the finish lane ie. Skubal)
Probably as bad as the the Dodgers feel about drafting Chase Utley in the 2nd round out of HS and not signing him...
except from 4/21-5/18 Meyers, Trammell, and Loperfido were all 3 on the I.L. Did they start Yordan in L F. more because of the injuries? No. Yordan played LF a total of twice in those 4 weeks. You would think that losing 3 of the few MLB quality OFers you have would cause you to play Yordan in LF more. Instead they signed AAAA players Dustin Harris and Daniel Johnson and used them in the OF instead. Sure, Yordan has played 12 games in LF out of 83 games but 3 of those were in the first week of the season and 3 more have been in the last 10 days. in between he went an entire month 5/5-6/5 without playing LF at all despite all the injuries. I don't think playing Yordan regularly in LF to help with too many infielders was ever a plan.
You seem to repeatedly ignore that they had lost infielders also. Why would you play Yordan in the OF if you needed a DH anyway? You really ignore lots of facts and data to try make your cases. Pena was out that entire time. Correa was out the latter half of it. They never had an infield surplus to put Yordan out there. You mean the only time when the infield was healthy? Shocking!
Yall both/all/whoever need to stop this ****. If it's not helping now, why are yall talking about it?
That logic doesn’t track. Yordan played a ton of OF when all the good infielders were healthy very early in the season. Thats pretty strong evidence that the plan was to use Yordan in LF to accomodate the extra infielder.

Because we are on a message board where you debate things. Nothing we are talking about on here is going to technically help anything.
