So basically he’ll never be at full strength and he’s going to be on minute restriction, if he even plays in the opener.
But he's gonna plug back in like nothing happened and lift the Rockets' offense to another level just like Ime said.
Not sure that was the smartest comments to make as you're trying to come back and maybe get an extension or restructured contract.
True. But I'm pretty sure the team knew all of this already... Sounds more like he's trying to tank his trade value even further than it already is.
What I don't get is if this is all true, why or how was there even talk about him coming back for the playoffs? Seems like that shouldve never even been on the table.
Nothing more exciting than a 6ft PG who is 33 years old coming back from his knee exploding while also regressing.

It will take him at least the full season to even be back to what he was & that's barring a set back. He will be on minutes restriction and probably not play back to backs. Same with Steve Adams. So again I'm very confused why the Rockets are just content on twiddling their thumbs while other teams are proactive in upgrading their rosters.
And folks calling others trolls for saying that the “when Fred comes back healthy” savior talk is misguided. Some even pounding the table for an extension.
Man his NBA career might be effectively over. I've been saying this for awhile, counting on Fred to come back and be anything more than a decent bench player--if even that--is totally foolish. If we're smart we'll just treat him as an expiring contract at this point and find some kind of trade that makes sense to get a younger point guard with some potential.
Remember Former Astros Drayton McLane getting insurance money for Jeff Bagwell bad shoulder. Jeff couldn't throw the ball from 1B in the NL. No such thing as DH in NL back then.
