I am really enjoying the three victories by Democratic Socialists in NYC against the moderate ineffective Dems who have confused the working class to the point where many vote for the Repugs.

Three great wins for DSA In NYC, in three US House races. 1) Lander beat Goldman a big Zionist supporter of actually existing Israel, genocide and all. Lander may or may not be in DSA now, but he was a member , who resigned shortly after an unfortunate October 8th statement by a group within DSA re . October 7. Lander who is also Jewish and either anti-Zionist or non-Zionist beat a long term incumbent Jewish Dem Congressman a fanatical supporter of Israel,. Continuing military support for Israel was a key issue in this overwhelmingly Jewish district.

    2) The second victory was that the long term incumbent Adriano Espaillat was defeated by DSA Member Darializa Avila Chevalier a Pro-Palestinian Muslim activist despite around 6 million spent by AIPAC and allies to defeat her.

    3) Claire Valdez a DSA member beat Antonio Reynoso the hand picked successor to the long term retiring US Rep, Nydia Velasquez.

Hey, the Demcoratic LA Mayor, Karen Bass is in a runoff with another DSA Member. In Washington DC a democratic sociailst who I believe is a DSA member just won the Dem Primary which is tantamount to winning the mayorship

DSA Houston has just passed 1,000 members when will we have similar progress in Houston?

New York ≠ the rest of America. You do not need to pretend that somebody like Darializa Avila Chevalier stands for good things or that her message isn't politically repellent outside of very specific parts of New York City.

I think only dc pundits and hardcore cable news watchers (whose votes are already baked in) care one bit about the DSA vs Dem whatever it is.

People that decide elections are going to look at a guy like Graham Platner and either like him and trust him or not. They won’t be like … oh wait but he is DSA and not a “moderate democrat”.

Your right, at the end of the day the voters will vote for are aligned with their wants and needs and who am I to say that a NY DS candidate is good or bad

TBH I don't want to be affiliated with any party right now, I like the (used to be) conservative spending and I think we spend WAY too much on the Military. but I also think Universal Health Care could be a thing but the lobbyist won't allow it and I don't need the government telling me what I can and cannot do inside my house or do to my body.

These pundits seem to forget that the standard bearer of the DSA movement, like their Trump almost cult leader is Bernie Sanders.... who gets elected in Vermont where they love their guns, and Bernie Sanders who had a pretty sizable crossover with Trump voters in 2016.

I think the issue with voters that could bring down the "electability" would have less to do with the DSA label and more to do with sexism and racism with male voters. In cases like Rashida Thalib, Ilhan, etc. its a double whammy even though their policy platform is basically the same as Bernie and Graham Platner.

So to me this really only matters for General Elections for Senate seats, and the President. The sad fact is women of color who are DSA are going to start off with a significantly less share of voters regardless of their policy platform just because a segment of the voters "FOR WHATEVER REASON... just don't like HER." I hear that crap all the time about AOC, and I heard it even about Kamala, and ESPECIALLY with Hillary.

The fact that moderates like Kamala and Hillary had the same issue that a DSA candidate apparently has (that Platner, and Bernie don't have magically) tells you all you need to know about the DSA vs Moderate Dem debate here in the US, and our general nation wide electorate.

Top Democrats insist that they’re unfazed by the party’s forming a “Zohran Mamdani wing,” after the New York City mayor’s stunningly successful primary night.

But there is growing angst among many sitting congressional Democrats after Mamdani allies won three primaries, including defeats of incumbent Reps. Adriano Espaillat and Dan Goldman. And, most immediately, they worry it will make it tougher to flip the House this year, with Republicans eager to tee up the Mamdani slate’s most controversial positions for attack ads in battlegrounds across the country.

“Obviously, the socialists had a big win last night. The question is, are we going to let them take over the party? Or are we going to stand up and fight back?” said Rep. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, a moderate Democrat who has criticized Mamdani’s politics and how he’s addressed allies of Israel. “Many of us believe, as I do, that if you’re a socialist, you’re not a Democrat.”

How come all this tough talk from Dems disappears when it comes to MAGA?

Idgaf what you are: moderate, liberal, leftist, socialist, or whatever you want to call yourself. All I care about is can you beat MAGA, and will you fight to make these demons and criminals pay? So many of the moderate Dems seem incapable of the moment, and they are one of the main reasons we are where we’re at with their softness, weakness, and ineptitude.

I don’t care about the label. Give me affordable healthcare that’s not tied to my employer, keep healthcare decision's between doctor and patient, establish better workers rights / pay and return our military to state of being a defensive force. That as a start will get my vote.

They will take over the Democratic party, they are like the Tea Party for the Repubs.

Democratic socialism is also called RESPONSIBLE CAPITALISM.

And the GOP is trying to hide behind the fear of a world - SOCIALISM - but we are already mostly a DS country, we just need NATIONAL HEALTHCARE to finish the job.

And Mamdami is showing the world what true REPRESENTATION for the people looks like.

Well, I mean they will take over the party like the Tea party did, not that they were actually related.

The DS will keep winning and the people will embrace them - and elections will continue to go their way because they represent the people rather than corporations.
