Yeah I agree. I saw a mock with us picking #5 & #11 and would hate to trade those and not be picking in another draft. I think Brown will leave anyways the second KD retires or Ime is fired
Boston and the rest of the league knows Sengun has another level. I am curious if someone can extract him from the Rockets. I hope the Rockets don’t sell low on a player with such upside.
I get that draft capital is the currency of the nba, but not sure why the Celtics would welcome draft capital as a big part of any Jaylen brown trade. I figure they are trying to win now. Derrick White is no spring chicken. I don’t think it’s wise for any mon-contending team to give up significant draft capital to take on a 3-yr contract that reaches $72 mil and implies a big extension in a player’s 30’s. The rockets are just not in position to make an all-in move like that. I hope we can be part of a trade that nets us future assets or good young prospects for KD. Maybe as a 3rd team. Would assume Boston has interest.
I mean, I could see them asking for four FRPs if they aren’t receiving a substantial player in return. But if they really want a young high level player AND four FRPs, that’s way too much.
My assumption would be that they'd look to then flip the picks into pieces that fit around Tatum rather than keep them to draft people around him. Might be easier for them to get picks for Brown than the players they want/need.
I still remember how Sengun was playing against Ayton in playoffs. I am totally fine with trading Sengun for Brown.
The Nets and Suns picks from next year’s draft. Brown is a disciplined player and he’s much younger than KD. He can improve team chemistry. An upgrade from FVV is also needed.
I understand . . .that said. . . I will fine Stone and shout at him if Ayton ever comes to this team Rocket River
Only thing is Jabari doesn't draw double teams. Sengun does. Fix the shooting on this team and Sengun can make them pay.
“There’s mixed feelings about him when you talk to teams,” Marks admitted on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “The analytics of Jaylen Brown is not good … I had one, not an executive, but an analytics guy say, ‘Yeah, we view him as the seventh best player on a team.’ I was like, ‘Holy crap.'” I get not wanting to trade for Jaylen Brown or thinking he’s a little overrated, but stuff like this is exactly why these analytics dorks are such a joke
Something that really f**king irritates me about Brown is he doesn't seem to have the right mixture of ego and self-awareness. He is a very good player with some very real weaknesses in his game. I get the impression he thinks he's the best player in the world and has nothing he needs to work on.
He was helped by the way the league started allowing push offs and just bashing people because he’s a poor ball handler. In the playoffs, they started calling those and he immediately fell apart. If the league gets rid of push offs it SEVERELY impacts his game.
