An unmotivated Morant averaged 19ppg/8assists...have yall been to Memphis? Its a **** waste of city...bring Ja to da H and watch him get back to his averages of 22ppg! This would be the best team/roster he'll be apart of. We lost games last year because we couldn't beat a trap or double team. Ja solves that problem. Then, we'll fill out the remaining openings of our roster with shooters. That's why I miss Daryl Morey as GM...at least he'll take a chance, Stone is playing it safe to keep his dream job.
Ja seems like nothing but trouble and with an expensive price tag... I have no desire to bring his toxicity and injury riddled self to the team - period
Why the hell would we want Ja? Dude cant shoot, cant defend and is already losing his athleticism. Oh and he makes the max. This is like trading for John Wall all over again. Wow factor part 2? lol
But wait, we have the anecdote to Morant's toxicity. Durant's toxicity. They negate each other. It's the only solution to the season.
Yeah man! We could have been Sixers who maxxed out Embiid and PG cuz Morey took a chance! Morey took so many chances he screwed over the Sixers thats why he got fired. On the Rockets, Morey took so many chances we would trade for a player only to dump him immediately. Remember when we traded a FRP for Lou Will only to trade him in the same season? What about trading all those assets for Cp3 only to trade even more assets just to dump him 2 yrs later? What about when we traded Capela for Covington only to dump Covington after one year? Morey is a gambling maniac. Its entertaining to see him always cooking but ultimately it just wastes everyone's time like what he did to Harden and Embiid's prime.
Ja's taken a pounding, and isn't the same player. He also makes the max. THEN, there's the whole show he has going on. Hell no.
I think the Rockets will try to make a move for Kawhi over Ja! Maybe: Rockets: Kawhi, Myles Turner Bucks: Sengun Clippers: Jabari, DFS, Rockets 2028 First
Part of the issue for the Grizz is the extension number. Ja is making 40+m. He doesn't want to take a lesser number, because in his camp's mind, he's still the guy. If the Grizz GM can pawn this off to another GM, then it'd no longer be their problem. When a star declines, or was a #1 with the team that drafted him, that first different team that takes him gets the most stubborn version of that 'star'. We saw this with Westbrook. Rockets was that first team after his long tenure with the Thunder. It took several teams, until in the end he was doing stuff like adapting his game and coming off the bench. Carmelo Anthony was the same way. Those 'friends' Ja hangs out with. Ones that make him forget he came from the Suburbs and is a millionaire NBA player.... after the suspension, and the one on one with Adam Silver, they're still around him. Can't change someone, who doesn't want to change. He's not exactly a buy low candidate.
It would have to be a Ty Lawson type of trade where we surrender nothing of importance. But Memphis would never agree to that.
Ja, Amen, and Sengun on the floor at the same time. We will definitely set an NBA record for rebound rate.
just because something is on the clearance rack doesn’t mean you have to buy it I’m good on Ja Morant…no thanks
He does not. After all, this is Stone/failson we are talking about. If they do, it will be getting Iko to write something about how Houston might listen if Memphis called. Our front office is proactive with the local media spin, extremely passive about things related to basketball and team-building.
As buy low candidates I prefer the young inefficient guy entering in his mid 20s and getting in before everyone else has caught up to them getting good: RJ Barrett, Scoot Henderson, Xalen Xreen.
Yeah I don't think people realize how low Ja's value is, they'll likely have to give up draft capital to get off of him. Not as much as the spurs would for Fox, but I'd say at least 1 FRP. I wouldn't trade Reed for Morant. Even FVV/DFS/Capela I'd have to be talked into. I think I only would because Ja's contract matches up when KD's ends as well.
