Don't blame him for taking the money. If Braden Burries takes his spot in the rotation, expect soup to be thrown.
$5.4 MIL aint nothing to scoff at. With the average U.S. income being just under $70k it would take the average American 77 YEARS to earn that. That's more than most people can even earn in their lifetime. Really sad actually.
Lolol I was informed by KPJ enthusiasts here that he was "balling out" last year and would be in demand ...yet he takes what is effectively the 1 year minimum to stay on a possible relegation zone team
17-7 last year for numbers - wow he should have gone to FA.....but I guess a starting PG spot is pretty good, he can put up more numbers and get a better contract next year. Good biz decision for him. DD
You disagree? I mean it is what it is.... I would love him back he is better than any PG currently on this team....he can create and get anywhere on the court he wants.....would have loved to see him under Ime... DD
I bet he gets moved to a contender. He seems like a guy that will hang around the league on teams like the Lakers that are always willing to take damaged goods discounted talent because they have superstars who control the game and locker room, and can deal with the baggage. A rebuilding team like the Bucks shouldn't hang on to him.
5.4 million is a ridiciously large sum of money. In NBA terms thats a small contract. That's part of the reason why I chuckle when NBA fans a quick to label certain players as "failures" because they didn't win a title. Sure Chris Paul, for example, never won a title but he did earn something like 480 million dollars over the course of his career. I'd take that kind of money any day.
He is the absolute textbook case for "empty box score". He is basically a replacement level player who can put up numbers on a bad team when given high usage. His actual talent level is in the bottom third of the roster on a true contender. Even that's a lot more than he deserves as a human being, though.
Just because you have a giant hard-on for kpj doesn’t make him a good player/human. Just move on, man.
He probably will be next season because it sounds like FVV's knee got completely ruined. Certainly not better than age 25-29 FVV though.
Odd to say for KPJ, but this is a mature move for him. Yes the Bucks is probably the one team in league he is the most featured #1-2 option, so that's always incentive. Even if he has low value around the league, he coulda got something as much or more in the open market. Still it's choosing in stay in Milwaukee of all places. It's taking the continuity and low contract with it.
