Yea, when cutting the cord you have to ask yourself what you actually have an interest in watching. Sometimes people watch things but if it wasn't available they wouldn't seek it out. As The Captain said, get an outdoor or attic antenna to pick up all the channels in good quality. Then i would get a DVR. The Tablo works for me. There a lot of house shows or cop dramas that you can record and watch if you're not specific. I just checked my Tablo and I don't see house hunters but I do see plenty of other house shows like Property.Brothers and Flip or Flop. Generally, if you just want to veg out on anyone genre, one or more of the major shows from said genre can be found for free legally either OTA or one of the free streamers. Beyond that if you just like one or two shows on a streamer just rotate them. One other thing I would do is watch out for phone plans that offer free perks. You may be able to come out better if your family was on a MVNO plan and you just paid for the streaming service. What I've personally found is that most people will eventually just watch what is available after reducing streamers and cable. The only exception is sports and must-see-tv shows like GOT.
