The Rockets better do something drastic to keep up with not only the west but the rest of the league.
After all the bs that went down with the team & KD's burner last season
1st round embarrassing exit by 40 years senior Lebron & a collection of role players

They're just sitting here as if that didn't happen, as if FVV is some savior, as if Segun didn't get straight dominated by Ayton & Hayes.
    Reed getting cooked and unplayable.
    Jabari still inconsistent.
    Tari's dramatic fall off.

    No staff adjustments?
Have they even considered bringing in a assistant to help with the offense that's not Ime's buddy or friend from Seattle

I still don't know the direction of the team?
    Are we still developing?
    Are we trying to contend?
Why get KD if you don't want to contend?
I'm really confused wtf the team is actually doing.

I know its just the beginning of a long summer but if they plan on just running it back with the same BS roster, an older Fred & Stevo coming off a major injury then the team is doomed before the season even begins.

    Sengun
    Amen
    Bari
    Tari
    Reed
    Thornton

    the new core?

Sengun could still turn into an all-nba guy

Amen could still turn into an all-nba guy

Bari is a cost controlled high end role player that will continue to get better because of his age

Tari is a high-end role player who took a leap on the shooting (despite the end of season numbers)

    Reed is a ?

    Thornton is a ?

The team doesn’t fit, but honestly we are still rebuilding so adding talent may still be more important than fit.

We don’t have a direction. But seems like we should probably trade KD.

    Its not only alpis defense

Amen is already a better playmaker than alpi
Amen was 6th in potential assists in the playoffs
    Alpi is 15th

Amen was the better shooter than Alpi in the playoffs

    Dont lump them.together

One has been a pro 3 years longer by your standards

We’re keeping KD as a cash cow, he brings people to the arena, to national tv and thus nationwide exposure of our beautiful basketball and sells merchandise. There’s just no way I see Tillman passing that up for a potential shake up and soft reboot.

If you're trying to lump both in as flawed you're right. But you're leaving out Amen is always the highest +/- with his flaws. Sengun is nowhere near the player Amen Thompson is. I'm not trading Amen under circumstance

I was pissed that the Rockets didn’t move Kd for a 26 pick. I got to looking today at what team would want him after all that has gone down over the last several days. I can’t think of any team that will trade for him without us taking back a bad contract. Who do you guys think are still a valid trading partner for KD?

Boston, Toronto, Golden State, Detroit, Cleveland, Orlando, Miami (but no assets post Giannis trade), Minny (but no assets post LaMelo trade). Maybe Atlanta.

    Trade him already damnit!

Please go look at the trade machine and try to make a trade with one of those teams that makes sense for both teams and works contractually. I looked at all of them and didn’t see a match. Unless some up and coming team like Portland or Utah foolishly think Kd is the answer, I just don’t see it. GSW maybe, but I would think that trade would’ve happened before the draft. Kawhi? LAC will want more than Durant and Leonard doesn’t want to leave.

portland’s new owner wants to make a splash and is a stupid, arrogant douchebag so maybe he wants KD.

i hope you are right. I guess Toronto might be in play if we are willing to eat Ingram’s contract for a couple of years for frp’s, but they wouldn’t be good ones.

I am of the mind that our FO wants to keep KD, but if we could trade KD to POR for Camara or Avdija & Grant plus a FRP that would have to "move the needle"

Portland isn’t trading Avidja. He is a better player than KD at this point in KD’s career. If KD is going to Portland it would most likely be for Jrue Holiday and filler maybe with a pick, but not really sure about that. I don’t think KD has as much trade value as people think.

Kd is a great scorer. It is not lost on other team’s the other issues on offense and defense that he contributed to for the Rockets. If KD was content to be an off-ball scorer, he would be much more valuable to the Rockets, but would still be a detriment to our defense and the injury concern will always be a factor at 38.

    • Dorian Finney-Smith available. The Rockets continue to explore trade possibilities around veteran wing Dorian Finney-Smith, reports Stein and Fischer. How big the market is for him coming off a down season in Houston remains to be seen. He is set to make $13.3 million next season, and while there are two years after that on his contract, neither is fully guaranteed.

With LeBron looking elsewhere, KD & DFS for Butler, Yaxel Lendeborg, and a sweetener (Podz? A pick? Both?) should be on the table.

Unfortunately I don't think KD is getting moved. I do personally think they are trying to move Alpi. If we would've traded Alpi the year prior we could've got something in return. Based off this prior season his value has plummeted.
