Don't Force a Blockbuster — Save the Big Move for Anthony Edwards

I feel like they made that desperate trade for Melo because they have no point guard and better shooting. They failed with Dillingham. Ayo is better off ball, more of a 2. Assuming LaMelo stays healthy Melo, Ayo and Ant is the best bsckcourt in the nba. As they will likely start all 3 along with McDaniels and Rudy I’d say that’s an improved team on paper. But I don’t think LaMelo will stay healthy and I wouldnt want to bet an average annual salary of $44 mil for the next 3 yrs, all those 1st round picks/swaps + Naz Reed to find out. Have to respect the risk-taking though.

Wolves will hold on to Ant until the very last minute where he’ll have a sh*t ton of leverage, and when they’re finally ready to trade him, he won’t have the Rockets on his list or be interested in coming here so the Wolves will be focused on trading him where he wants to go or where he’ll sign an extension, and he’ll be traded for some meh players and like 4 picks plus 3 pick swaps

ain’t no superstar excited to come play with a Sengun or an Amen Thompson…they’re nowhere near good enough

That's because we just had 2 very strong drafts. The 1st pick in 2023 wasn't worth much and the 2027 one will be the same. We have to stop thinking like all picks are created equal.

 

Why not just offer Reed for Edwards right now. Seems legit

 

Now, this is the kind of trade I can get behind. Sengun, KD, Amen? Sure, any of them.

 

I agree with this. We lost a lot of games to get a 'young core' that is better than what we had, but not nearly what it could have been, given the picks. Now we are relatively mediocre in terms of competing with the rest of the 'big dawgs' in the leage.

 

So our entire strategy should be based on the remote possibility that Ant demands out, wants to come here, Minny agrees to trade him to a WC rival, we have the best package available, he doesn’t have a devastating injury, and doesn’t develop some sort of severe baggage in the next couple of years??

Jesus Christ…..I mean what could possibly derail such a plan? Brilliant.
