But u are right about something. There’s no point dwelling on it because it’s over. Stone traded those nets picks back to them and we gave up a chance to take a swing on cooper Flagg and AJ, etc. foolish as it was, it’s done. Stone traded a juicy grape for two rat turds, but it’s done.

No one can predict how good or bad they would have been because no one knows what moves they would have pulled off, but again, they had assets to improve and it's clear that they utilize them to avoid tanking (which is why their pick is high) when they have no inventive to tank. So can we please stop looking at what they got from tanking when they clearly would not have tanked if they didn't have their pick. Y'all make something so simple so complex. Team owns a pick and tanks. Team doesn't own a pick and doesn't.

New Orleans had some good players on their team. They had Murphy, they had Zion. They didn’t own their pick. They didn’t tank, they tried to win. Atlanta ended up with Kingston Flemmings. The Nets woukd have been bad regardless, but the NO/Atlanta example kind of makes my case. And there’s always the possibility that we get lucky on lotto ball night and get a better pick. But we decided not to give ourselves that chance. And now we have picks in a much weaker draft instead.

Seems to me wven if u account for the nets winning more games it very easily could have landed at #6. Of course it could also have landed much later…or much earlier. That’s the point, you don’t win if you don’t play. Never trade out of a really good draft unless u are a sure fire contender, and even then. U don’t see okc trading out of the draft because they already have all the young talent in the world. Or the Spurs, who dipped into the draft at #20 to get potentially the highest defensive upside prospect.

They really have asinine assumptions on here sometimes. The east was really good this year. I haven't seen one suggestion him from on how they would improve just that they magically would. Sounds like copium to me.

Brother, you've been dwelling on it forever. Even after the Nets 25 and 26 picks ended up 8th and 6th respectively you still won't stop complaining and are still bringing up Flagg and AJ. We wouldn't have gotten those with the Nets picks clearly so why are you bringing them up? You are obsessed with mid lotto picks.

We had our own shot at Flagg with the Phoenix swap from that trade and ended up with the #10. If we had moved up with that pick would you have hailed Stone as a genius even though it was just lottery luck? You don't like the 2027 draft, fine. Do you also hate the 2029 draft? Because we have two picks in that draft as well.

any opportunity lost was going to be the Rosetta stone to a championship team...

Welp, I aint lamenting not getting Khaman Maluach... but give it a couple years and anybody drafted after that who comes up will become the guy that we missed out on... lol

Castle vs Reed scenario holds water though...

i'll be interested to see if this draft lives up to the hype a few years down the road...
