Flat fastballs are the best ones. About half the 4S fastballs are flatter. About half are less flat. His fastball is about as average shape as possible. Average equals the pitch does not deviate from what a batter expects. Flat fastballs actually appear to be rising as they don't drop a usual amount.

Flat is used by scouts to make it sound like they can see what the pitch is doing, but in reality, they are speaking BS.

 

during the all-star break, burrows should just completely drop the 4-seamer all together and practice to see if he could throw 2-seamer or cutter

because his 4-seamer and sinker ain't working
