Agreed. GA Had a great career and is a good person, but I wouldn’t want to cash in everything to build around him. When there isn’t really a clear fit and considering that his game is predicated on a lot of athleticism. He doesn’t fit with Amen or Sengun. I do have a lot of interest here in trying to be a third team to facilitate and I think there are options for us to supplement whatever our goal is. Meaning, if that is to win over the next couple seasons or if it is to try to step back a little bit and re-tool around a specific core of players. I am a big fan of Herro personally. I don’t think he’ll get a max contract, but I would probably be open to something in the $38 million a year range if he were willing to come here and be extended. Jacques or (especially) Ware are good players. Kasparas and even Jovic(Who is signed to a deal that Miami likely sees as bad). Milwaukee also has a couple pieces that I think we could use for either timeline. Turner, I know that he had a down year but I think that he fits very well. His contract is a little bit longer, but I don’t find the amount to be too terrible. I Think we will try to compete this next couple years. To Miami Giannis FVV To Mil #13 Houston 2029 FRP (Worst of the 2) Miami 2 Future FRP Ware Sengun Jovic Capela To Hou Myles Turner Herro (extends at 3 extra years $114 million) Davion Mitchell (extend him next year. Elite defender at the point of attack and hits shots.) #10 via MIL Then trade #10 Better of 2027 FRP Better of 2029 FRP To move up for #3. Draft Boozer at #3. Begin the process of converting Jabari Smith to more of a shooting five over the next couple years. Re-Sign Eason just reiterate him that he is a giant part of the future, even though he remains coming off the bench. Bring back Okogie to be another defensive stopper off the bench. I would be fine with trying to give him a three or four year deal maybe with a mutual option after the second or third season depending on what it looks better to him. Bring back Uncle Jeff for leadership and I would actually let him play a few minutes here and there. I still think he can make an impact. if that is indeed accurate, correct me if I’m wrong, but the Lakers are giving up Jared Vanderbilt in a first rounder for Ware and Stewart?
They are all sh*tty picks. Bucks are going to to suck for a long, long time if this is true and Portland is getting handed a windfall with Bucks’ picks they hold. We should be talking to Portland right now to get on those picks.
Looks like the Heat are going to gamble on Giannis health. Their picks are probably pretty mid if he stays healthy. Giannis and Adebayo is a good fit with him. Miami probably isn't through. They still have a number of expiring contracts, they can use at the deadline to free up space for the following year. If they do nothing I guess their starting line-up is Mitchell, Giannis, Wiggins (if he picks up his player option which is probable), Jokic, Adebayo. Pretty small frontcourt.
Most people don’t realize that the picks you get in these trades don’t often turn into productive players. They help facilitate future trades and maneuvering in the draft. The team losing the star ultimately becomes bad and their own picks turn into decent players.
[Charania] The Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics are the only two teams involved in the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes that have gotten the commitment from him to sign long term.
