Employees at my job have a Vacatio PTO cap, and I can’t tell you how many people just let it cash out instead of taking an actual vacation. Most people only use PTO to stretch holiday weekends, or they take a random week here and there. Even with sick time, people will call out, then try to come back later the same day even though they’re clearly still sick. I’ve literally had to tell people to log off. The guilt around taking time off is real lol.
That sounds like a corporate culture issue. The boss needs to take time off to show employees it's ok.
