(Presuming KD has not quietly asked to bid adieu) there is a win-win swap staring hoop gods in the nostrils: Ausur - Reed. Ps need Cade support and protection as well as shooting. Reed checks the boxes like an open-3. Reed and Ausur make ‘the same’ $, but Ps are about to pay Jalen and Reed buys them another year before extension. Rox need FVV support and protection, and shooting. However, Rox haven’t been as fun or successful since the Terror Twins were wreaking major havoc. This reboots TheTerrorTwins to the madmax level. And sets Tari up to an SnT to resolve one or both issues (the second 1 & the shooter). Just an (Eric) Idle thought…
Ausar and Amen on the same team would be incredibly fun and I think inevitable whether here now or down the road or elsewhere down the road.
If we can get Tari around $20 mil per thats a good contract. I believe the shooting is real despite the poor yr end numbers. Tari is a true high-end role player. Sure I’d trade him for a better player, but he can’t be aggregated in a package so it will be hard to trade him anyway. I would not target Ausar because he’s a non-shooter and pretty much the opposite of the player-type we need with Amen. I’m cool aggregating Reed into a package for a star or even to get a high lotto pick in this draft. I’m also fine holding onto him and seeing if he can take a big leap next season. I’d really prefer starting with moving on from KD. I don’t like the idea of trading younger players while keeping KD on the roster.
Nah, be patient with Reed. Next year will basically be his rookie season when you think about how much I love him and will say anything to protect him.
Having Amen and Ausar on the floor together would create absolutely terrible spacing on offense. I must admit the defense would be great but it would kill us on offense.
Plus, Reed only played half the minutes, so next season is "technically" the second half of his rookie year. Still plenty of room to grow!
Why are people constantly clamoring for Ausur? He's a terrible fit with Amen...maybe if we want our offense to continue to be nonexistent then he's a perfect fit.
You have to wait a year, when Amen has an outside shot and you trade Sengun for a stretch 5 and KD for a shooting guard that can play defense and shoot 3’s. Then you can run Showtime II
