No player has been taken in the supplemental draft since 2019 because you sacrifice a pick from next years draft. Also 2027 draft is supposed to be awesome. I am curious to see how high this guy goes.

Supplemental draft brings nightmares of Tony Hollings.

Sorsby is the type of player you take a high risk on.
I wouldn’t be mad if the Texans bid a 2nd on.
    Big arm and prototypical size/athleticism.

Gave up the 1st pick in the 2004 2nd round, after making a great trade to get it (2003 3rd & 7th to Oakland)

I wouldn't be mad if they took Sorsby as Stroud insurance.... but they won't.

I would absolutely minimum put a 2nd round pick on Sorsby. I believe and a lot of other QB evaluators believe he's a better QB prospect than Mendoza. Yes, he's got some Pete Rose in him, but he has a skillset that offensive coordinators drool over. For the Texans, I would consider using a first round pick since more than likely they would be at the bottom of the 1st round. The Jets and Browns are going to be involved with the Sorsbys selection.

It’s a risk for sure, but the talent and prototype skillset is there.

A lot of highly competitive athletes.... and people in general, are degenerate gamblers, you just usually don't hear about it at the time.

Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Alex Rodriguez, Wayne Rooney, John Daly, Jaromir Jagr, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Isiah Thomas, Allen Iverson, Michael Vick....

I mean i could go on for days listing them.

Pro athletes just tend to be degenerate gamblers pretty often.

The only reason I have pause on using a 1st rounder on Sorsby is because the draft in 2027 is going to absolutely loaded. But with Stroud's upcoming contract and his regression the last 2 years, the Texans can hedge their bets (no pun intended) at the QB position. The Texans have an absolute loaded roster, and if they don't advance further into the playoffs it's because of the QB position. If you haven't watched Sorsby's tape, he's a high 1st round pick. Great mobility, quick release, quick decision making, gets rid of the ball fast and has good accuracy. He's a better prospect coming out of college than Stroud. The gambling drama is a big issue and that's why teams are hesitating with Sorsby as a prospect. Teams will need to find out if Sorsby can put the gambling behind him. But off of talent and what you see on tape, Sorsby is easily a top ten draft pick.

If we're assuming the Texans will be good next year, I'd have no problem with them bidding their 2nd rounder on Sorsby. I just assume someone with a higher slot will bid a 2nd on him as well.

Just as insurance for the future. You could always trade him if CJ sticks around.

Good point. If Stroud balls out next year then you could use Sorsby as trade bait. I expect the Cardinals, Jets (who have 3 1st round picks next year), Browns, Steelers, and Dolphins to all put in a minimum 2nd round pick and thus be in front of the Texans 2nd round selection. It will be interesting to see if a mid round team such as the Steelers will put in a 1st round pick for Sorsby.

Just like DW4 was/is a Sex addict, this guy is a Gambling addict and prone to relapse at anytime.

As a matter of fact, this guy is worse because he is betting against his own team! Yet its people on this board willing to give up as high as a 2nd rnd pick to get him?? First time he makes a BAD PLAY or THROW A INT his teammates are going to question him....THINK ABOUT IT.

This is something I just learned:

The order for the supplemental draft differs from the regular spring draft. The supplemental draft order is divided into three groups:

▪︎ Teams with six or fewer wins the previous season
    ▪︎ The remaining non-playoff teams
    ▪︎ The 14 playoff teams

The order within each group is randomly selected.

After the Watson debacle you really think we are going to go for a QB with immense baggage? That's under the guise that he's actually good.

Nuts! Even a 2nd is too high for someone with potential gambling issues. That better on his own team? If true, you can't take a chance on this. Even if he has the guts to bet on himself to win the game! Bet on him, he gets busted on Gambling, game over.
