Haven’t seen a thread for this. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in town, and I’m going with my brother. He’s an avid FIFA fan, and he wants to go to these events while we’re there but I want to find me time too or even just other cool places to check out. Anyone know what’s going on around those days that we could go to? I checked https://365thingsinhouston.com/things-to-do-weekend-houston-texas-june-4-7-2026/ and those days don’t seem like they’re live yet. I’m guessing there are are a lot of out of towners from here that are visiting too, not just me. What are y’all’s plans? edit: this looks interesting https://feverup.com/m/145053?utm_source=fever_mcp&utm_medium=chat&utm_content=claude
There's about 3 threads for this. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/usa-canada-mexico-win-fifa-world-cup-2026-bid.291717/ https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/usmnt-2023-2026.318607/ Ooops, sorry, only got 2
Is this my brother’s account lol. I dont care about the world cup, im just asking folks about things to do in town
I just saw that the last time the US hosted the World Cup was in 1994. I can promise that NOBODY gave a **** about it then.
My friends got me to go to the first game last night at The Phoenix (apparently there's only 2 places to go to watch soccer...) It's not like I've never watched before. I had to watch many of these games in college. It's just so lame. No Vuvuzuelas to be heard. What the hell is missing identity? I truly didn't realize when it was halftime or when it was over. It was always just a TV with a field that little people were running around on. I didn't notice when the players left. I still had a good time with my friends, but the folks that watch soccer are definitely not the same as the other sports. I now know what it feels like to be a girl that gets taken to a sportsgame.
