Nearly 50% of tickets for Knicks Game 5 in San Antonio purchased by NY, NJ fans

    https://nypost.com/2026/06/12/sport...ught-50-of-tickets-for-game-5-in-san-antonio/

    excerpt:

An army of Knicks fans is set to storm San Antonio Saturday night — with 45% of tickets for the pivotal Game 5 snatched up by New York and New Jersey basketball buffs.

Nearly half of Frost Bank Center will be blue and orange as the Big Apple’s beloved squad looks to secure its first NBA Championship title in 53 years in a 1999 finals rematch when Gregg Popovich’s Spurs won in five games.

Data shows New York billing zip codes bought 37% of tickets to the potentially clinching game, and another 8% came from New Jersey, according to Kyle Zorn of the popular resale service TickPick.

Only 12% of tickets were bought by Texas-area customers as of early Thursday, Zorn said.

Translation: Well over 45% of fans for game 6 will be Knicks fans. The game 6 crowd could be like the Steelers playing the Chargers or the 49ers playing the Rams at SoFi stadium in LA.

Can a player get any more arrogant than the big baguette?

I have a feeling Spurs take the next one and Knicks close it out at home.

What a bunch of deluded, arrogant jackhammers.
It's one thing to say that amongst yourselves, but...

If the Knicks don't win the next one, they'll close it out at home. And, it likely won't be close.

He pretty much said the same thing after they lost the first two games. They did win Game 3, barely. Then came Game 4. Entitlement is probably a more apt word than arrogance. You could see he was shaken when he was at the line for those two free throws. And sure enough he choked.

On the other side, Brunson was saying that this series was not over, not even close.

Take nothing for granted. Don't slight your opponent and give them more motivation.

I think this aloofness works for him and his team that they can win couple games, if they can't figure
out how to out-clutchplay the Knicks it should be over.

So refreshing to finally have a team that is not going away.....

The Spurs have been awful in the 4th in most games, you wonder if that is stamina issues ....

I think Wemby has stamina issues. He played only 29 MPG and missed about 20% of the games in the regular season. Now he is playing 40 MPG in the Finals, and 38 MPG in the previous 7-game series against OKC. He's got to be exhausted.

I don't think stamina is a problem with the other guys though.

New Yorkers not welcome — Spurs block out-of-towners from buying NBA Finals Game 5 tickets

    https://nypost.com/2026/06/13/sport...owners-from-buying-nba-finals-game-5-tickets/

    excerpt:

The San Antonio Spurs have slapped a ticket restriction on NBA Finals games in a pathetic bid to keep New York fans from flooding the Frost Bank Center.

Knicks faithful trying to get into tonight’s Game 5 contest – which could hand New York its first NBA title in 53 years – are being greeted with a warning from Ticketmaster.

“Frost Bank Center is located in San Antonio, Texas . Sales to this event will be restricted to customers residing within a 150-mile radius of Frost Bank Center,” the note reads.

    ***
Those who have already purchased a ticket may still be out of luck — with Ticketmaster stating that any out of towners with tickets will have them refunded and canceled without notice.

However some on social media pointed out the residency restriction practice has been in place throughout the playoffs.
