The reason why they're built in rural areas is because, in Texas at least, county government is treated like a red-headed stepchild by the State. There's no real legal framework to prevent anything from being done in unincorporated areas.

...and nationally they are being built, overwhelmingly, in drought stricken areas. Which is a brilliant plan.

Any even incorporated area is losing local control.

They should build them on the moon.

This article absolutely pissed me the **** off:

    Short version:

farmer says, "there's not a good place for kids to play around here"
farmer deeds 87 acres to the city expressly written for parkland, for $10
years later, after various shifting of ownership, city sells land to developer for $10M
    data center incoming

How in the hell do those people sleep at night? I don't even see how that's legal. That makes me sick to my stomach.

This is why we have an easement on every property we own. No matter who/where it goes, it can only be used for certain things.

Okay. That’s less than two miles from where I grew up back in the 70’s. I didn’t know they were planning to put these things right in the middle of heavily populated areas. I notice it’s surrounded by apartment complexes. I’ve read that these data centers can sometimes create annoying noise pollution. It looks like they put these things next to electrical substations.

It looks like pretty much everyone doesn’t want a data center in their backyard, whether they are republican or democratic. But, Texas seems to be pretty friendly towards these projects.

    Picture on like below...

"These are the weapons we are seizing from Mexican Cartels. They are killing thousands of Americans each and every year! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

What are you doing about it? You do realize that 80% of the weapons the Cartel has are snuggled across the border from the US don't you?

The NRA thanks you and your party for for your support. Keep those weapons flowing Donald.

I didn't either, its across from a nice shopping area and next to apartments and a few subdivision. They started building it a year ago and its massive, but about a month ago I noticed a sign showing it was a farm. Holy Hell..............I am sure this is a coincidence, but I had O`Connor fight my home evaluation on taxes as I do each year and they have never won and this year they shave $25k off my tax evaluation

Its supposed to start up next month...............SMH
