A loss is a loss. Didn't take away anything positive from this. The inability to finish chances is the dagger we can't extract from our backside.

Well it was mostly our B team but yeah, ok.....we were missing probably 7 or so of our best players.....and especially finishers.

    That's not what this was.

I still need to go back and watch the highlights as I was at the Outlaw Music festival last night seeing Willie Nelson, at 9-freaking-2 sill kill it. The outcome doesn't surprise me, though.

I'm sure thats true, but these are the current champions in concacaf

    Concacaf U17 Mexico
    Concacaf U20 Mexico
    Concacaf U23 Mexico
    Nations League Mexico
    Gold Cup Mexico
Concacaf Champions League Cruz Azul (Mexico)

At some point usmnt has to win something or else maybe fans should slow down a bit with their talking down of the region and realize maybe your players/teams arent as good as you think they are.

That is pretty stout, USA hiring Berhalter slowed our progression.

Great performance last night. Biggest winner was Pochettino. He's got everyone buying in and they're playing like their World Cup lives depended on it. His answer in the press conference was great - there are no "regulars", you have to earn your spot. No one is safe. Berhalter/Freeman helped themselves the most, especially the later being a possible answer at the open RCB spot. If I were to guess, the WC roster looks something like this:

    GK: Freese, Turner, Steffan
DEF: Freeman, Dest, Arfsten, A. Robinson, Ream, Richards, McKenzie, M. Robinson, Trusty
MID: Adams, Berhalter, Tessman, Roldan, McKennie, McGlynn
FWD: Pulisic, Luna, Tillman, Balogun, Wright, Pepi, Weah, Reyna

Taking a healthy McGlynn over Morris/Aaronson because his magic left foot is a more useful tool coming off the bench. Plus Morris/Roldan are a bit redundant as holding mids & the later is Poch's guy. Weah can probably cover for either wingback as well. I don't think I've seen a USMNT team this deep before and they seem to be peaking at the right time. There are going to be some tough decisions in March.

Well said. If he sticks to the 3 man back line, which I can't imagine why he'd change at this point, this team is solid as hell. I hope in March we see as close to a starting 11 as possible. I'd like to see

    Freese
    Richards - Ream - M Robinson
    Weah-----------------------A Robinson
    Adams---Tessman
    Tillman---Pulisic
    Balogun
I'm not sure Reyna makes this unless he starts getting real minutes and has a long stretch of health...which he hasn't done in years. That was a good showing in this window but he's behind a lot of people.

Right now...because he's playing in the PL, I'd take him over Reyna.

Donavon hit the nail on the head but was a major contributor to the poor result. His idea of letting kids just enjoy soccer won’t work though. You have to build machines and you have to get the unicorn who wants to play basketball, football, and baseball to commit so early to soccer they won’t transition. We have unicorns. And most of them played yute soccer,, but they transition out. So lock em up early and train like a professional machine.

We can't. The athletes we need to lock up can't afford it. It's not just the cost of the club...it's now the cost of the travel. Select teams in the Houston area now have to travel to Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Colorado for REGULAR SEASON GAMES. It's insanely ridiculous what's happened to youth soccer. Even with all the screaming about pay-to-play that's been going on for decades...it's only gotten worse. We are the only nation in the entire world where soccer is a "country club" sport. Until that changes, we'll always be on the outside looking in. The talent is there...they'll just never get seen or they'll move on to other things.

The traditional Paraguay USA jersey swap will be interesting.

All good so far, but we need to see their composition. form, and connectivity when a team presses. So far we’ve been given a low stress pitch. The hype machine is fun, nothing wrong with it, enjoy, I will, but the real tests are still to come.
