Woah that was nice, love that song. I think I was most impressed by the singing, didn’t know he could still do that, but I admittedly haven’t followed them closely.
I'm starting to I'm starting to get jazzed. Seeing them in July and two days before Muse is in town. Gonna be a great week.
Anybody watch vids from the first show last night. Interested to hear what y'all think. I still have almost 2 months to wait till I see them in NYC. Cool thing is Muse is here in my neck of the woods two nights before in Saratoga.
I saw this earlier. I hope if do working man in the encore it's not with the reggae intro. Want the old school intro.
I'll never forget the Cartman video second half intro because it nearly destroyed my hearing. For some reason, the sound was completely messed up. I was on the floor and a big PA speaker was hanging in front of me from above. It was super loud and it was feeding back with a lot of noise. It physically caused my ears to hurt like hell at that moment. I was covering my ears and it still was hurting. It caused my ears to ring for about a week after. I was super pissed when that happened. So mad. I was ready to go tackle the sound board guy and beat the hell out of him for that. I honestly don't know what happened or why it happened. But, it slaughtered my ears at the time. I thought it was permanent.
Looks like Anika brought it last night...............dam, she is REALLY good, she is perfect for this tour https://loudwire.com/rush-reunion-tour-anika-nilles-drum-footage/
Welp...today was supposed to be the first Rush concert for the four shows in Fort Worth at Dickey's Arena but show has been postponed due to "travel and border-related delays" for their tour production from their last tour stop in Mexico City. This was my show I was attending tonight. What's weird is I swear they had multiple days off since their last show and they still got stuck at the border. lol. The show has been shifted to July 2nd instead or now the last date in Fort Worth. This is my second cancelled show of all-time. My first was VH when they cancelled in Dallas in 2012 due to burnout or whatever. Can't think of any others. A Rush cancellation is pretty rare. Wow.
Well, a little bad news: Some of that damage is definitely permanent. Every loud concert without proper ear protection causes permanent damage. The hair cells in our cochleas don't regenerate. You get what you get at birth and slowly kill them off. I say that as someone who's seen a lot of loud music.
Yep. Found out when we pulled up to the arena Thanks, Ticketbastard. Originally had my oldest friend in the world flying in from Washington for this, but he had to cancel a couple weeks ago. Would have sucked extra hard if he’d made that trip . Regarding the hearing loss, earlier this week I submitted my preauth request to the insurance company for…hearing aids. So many mornings waking up with ears still ringing.
I heard local Rush fans were trading tickets for the next show to those who got their show canceled and were out of towners and could not make the makeup date. That's pretty nice. Now were they swapping upper prom for floor. Who knows.
Went last night. Took my son (his favorite band and 1st time to see them). They were awesome. Never seen him happier!!!
I was sulking last night that I didn’t get to see the first Fort Worth show after the cancellation. Kept looking at the clock and was kind of pissed.
