I have a feeling its either one or the other... if they focus all their energy on playing high effort defense, their shooting suffers on the other end.

I know it sounds dumb... but if you ever played basketball, you'd know that playing hard defense can take everything out of you.

It's a good sign so far...JJ only took 1 shot and TMac is just lighting it up! Damn good sign....:)

TMac 13 points , now Yao it's your turn heat up, the rest of the team know your role, hustle and scrap like someone just stole your lunch money!

Wow... much like last year, the Dallas zone just stifles us. (until FINALLY... TMac recognizes it... and penetrates.)

Bottom line... nobody should be trying to set "picks" when a team is playing a zone.... it doesn't work.

We are showing much more energy tonight, it seems the players JVG got playing out there actually care. I wonder what was said before the game or the Rox players are finally tired of losing.

Well... Yao is the only one who needs to get the message. If he's rebounding, and being aggressive on offense... the rest of the team does not matter.

But, if he's failing to box out, and settling for fadeaways... this team will suffer no matter who's showing effort.

I agree, however right now i don't mind him taking a back seat to McGrady. There still a 1, 2 punch, just reversing the order.

I think McGrady can keep you in the game... but we still very well could lose it even if he goes off for 50.

Yao being aggressive makes us almost unstoppable.

Absolutely; i still want the ball in Yao's hands in the 4th quarter on every possession.

Alright... so far we've done two big things... establish our big two.

We still haven't rebounded, or played anything that even resembles a defense... but its nice to see the Rockets actually making the other team adjust for once, rather than vice versa.

Graig Seager asked Ewing who's the leader of this team is, Ewing said it's JJ. No wonder we're in trouble, JJ still thinks he's the second option on this team. Come on TMac or Yao, step up, it's your team now, take charge, don't let one the scrubs be the leader.

Well... Saeger did say that neither of them felt comfortable yet to take that role.

If nobody else will do it, I have no problem w/ JJ being the leader. Remember... leader does not mean "take the most shots..."

In fact, some could argue that Hakeem was never the "leader" of those championship teams... merely the best player.

see jvg, you unleash tmac and good things happen. why did it take so long to figure out.

you give it to yao or you give it to tmac. honestly, unless they are playing the crazy double team/fronting without the ball D on yao, neither yao nor tmac should have less than 15 or 16 shots in any given game. hell, punish them if they fail to put that many up.

i like this offense way more than other games.

I want every Rox players to remember this especially JJ, This isTMac&Yao's team. Tmac can take all the shots that he wants, second will be Yao, as long as they know that, there will be lights at the end of the tunnel guys.

i feel like hakeem was definitely the leader. elie is the only other guy who could be considered leader material and he didn't even come on big until title number 2. nonetheless, you knew where the ball better go on every possession if you wanted to keep playing. and you knew where the ball was going down the stretch. that's a leader.

THe problem with JJ is he never met a shot he didn't like at the expense of our two superstars.
