Yes! And we had a great time! During the first week of July, we flew into Copenhagen. We spent a day at Tivoli Gardens, toured Rosenborg castle, and had lunch at Reffen. Our new in-laws rented a GoBoat and gave us a private boat tour of the canals. We had an excellent day trip to Roskilde where we visited the Viking Ship Museum, then the cathedral, and walked down Algade. Finished that week by attending our daughter's wedding.

The next week, we flew down to Munich, rented a car, and drove to the obligatory Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau, and Linderhof (my wife had never been to Europe). Then we drove East through the Alps to Oberammergau, rode an Alpine Coaster, continued driving Southeast through the Alps to Innsbruck, Austria, and ended up in Hallstat. Toured a salt mine there. Then drove back to Munich, flew back to Copenhagen, and then back to the states.

    Not a bad trip.

Oldest is a freshman at Sam Houston and adjusting to life on their own quite well.

Younger son is a soph in high school and just lettered academically.

Step-daughter just made the regional team for club volleyball and has nothing less than a 95 so far in 7th grade.

So awesome reading through this thread, but it's been a while and we definitely need some updates.

    I'll start.

Both my boys are still playing in School of Rock. Their last 'showcase' was a few weeks ago and it was Prog themed. They played Subdivisions, Spirit of Radio and YYZ by Rush along with Roundabout by Yes and Jerry Was a Racecar Driver by Primus. My guitar kid nailed the Sprit of Radio intro and even the solo. The rest of my family was making fun of me because I may or may not have had a little salty discharge coming from my eyes.....

My drummer kid is playing in the "house band" which is the advanced band that mentors the other students. They play gigs all over Houston. He's the youngest one in the band. All the other players have drivers licenses and he hasn't even started high school yet. They play an amazing version of Paranoid Android that always brings the house down.

This "house band" got invited to play at Summerfest in Milwaukee in a few weeks, so we are all going. They're playing on 2 different dates and then playing a couple of dates in Chicago after that, so we're going there too.

14 years old and he's touring the country in a rock band. I used to jokingly tell people that he's better than me. Now I still tell people that....but it's not really a joke anymore....

    Let's hear some more updates!

My 17 year old son is about to be a senior in high school. He made a 33 on his ACT including 36 in reading AND English. Hopefully he will get to go to college on a full scholarship. He is the most mentally tough and resilient person I know. This might be corny but it’s the truth - not only is he my son but he is also my best friend.

My son just turned down UT and A&M business honors and a full ride to SMU honors. NOT the flex it might sound like. Gonna cost me a damn fortune.
