I don't know why I was thinking Wisconsin. Thanks for clarifying that. I can't vote in those states anyway, but just don't want Republicans winning.
Whatever Trump does is fine with his cult. He can vote by mail even though he goes to Florida most weeks to golf, grift, or fundraise at his properties..
I think it is more likely that the Democrat loses with him. Maine has one of the strongest independent electorates (~ 37I, 33D, 30R). Angus King is a clear example of that. Independents will turn away from a bad candidate. And no, he cannot convince even a majority of independents that he has changed. In addition, he has the real potential to drag down the blue wave. His impact goes beyond Maine. In a year when you can point to Trump's massive mishandling of the war, the economy, and his open corruption, this candidate's story could be a gift to Republicans. It distracts from what Republicans cannot defend over the past 2 years and shifts the message to Democrats supporting a woman abuser and a Nazi. Not only should Democrats avoid supporting a bad character, doing so is very likely a strategic mistake. I hope he loses in the primary.
