wait for the buyout. Whether or not you would consider giving up Sengun for AD is a litmus test. The only way I'd trade Sengun for AD is if Cameron Boozer, AJ Dybantsa or Darryn Peterson were also involved in that trade. Mobley, Chet, Paolo. Those are the three guys (non superstars) I would say you could realistically get in a Sengun centered trade that wouldn't affect a timeline that have 1 to 1 or close to 1 to 1 value. If the Rockets can get one of those three, trade Sengun. If the Rockets decide to trade for a superstar, trade Sengun. If the Rockets are presented with an offer involving a blue chip asset and 4 FRP, trade Sengun. Otherwise, maybe hold onto the 23 year old two time all star who has shown flashes of being a franchise level player and has shown flashes of being less than an all star. If Sengun was consistent at his highs, he'd be a top 15 player right now. Even with inconsistency, he's likely top 30 RIGHT NOW by any metric. He's not James Harden MVP level player but he's also not Kevin Martin as a Rocket. He's a young all star with upside. Even if he plateaus he's worth more than a broken Anthony Davis. The Rockets don't have a clear blue superstar (other than KD) on the roster and it appears as if they are ready to put that onus on Amen Thompson. They do have an objective all star on the roster who is under the age of 25. Maybe only trade said all star for something that improves the Rockets.
No thank you! Get rid of the cancer, aka Dickerson, hire a coach to coach both ends of the court, run it back minus cancer, and let our young guys reach their prime! Then we can sort out if we need to make any major moves and who is expendable.
I’m ok with this. I would see what we could get for Sengun, but wouldn’t sell him for peanuts. Ime and KD are the 2 biggest issues on this team.
