Hate is easy. Blame the owner, blame the QB, I just blame the "curse" Whatever the case, this is the best team Texans has had since the beginning. Sure, there were others but that is the past and there are zero anything in terms of measure of success. That ends this year..... As fans, root for the team to do well and stop looking back, you cannot change the past. The future looks good to me. Frankly, CJ is not bad, good kid and sometimes, extreme failure brings extreme success later. (I hope).

Why do you think they would've won too many games with Mills at QB since he sucked so bad? That's not a given to me. To answer your question, I liked Nix and Penix.

My QB ratings in that draft.

    1. Maye
    2. Williams
    3. Daniels
    4. Nix
    5. Penix
    6. McCarthy

Did you just listed McCarthy? Penix? Be for real, I know you don't like CJ, and even I'm disappointed so far, but like hell would I even list those 2 over CJ. Not even sure if Daniels will have a healthy career; I have an inkling last season will be his norm.

I listed how I had the QB's listed in that years draft.

I wasn't comparing them to CJ.

The defensive improvement would have won them 5-7 games alone. That would have taken them out of position. Panthers made the trade with the Bears, so the #1 was out. Commanders, Patriots, Cards all won 4 games. After seeing what the Panthers gave up, No way Caserio trades up even if he could (Commanders and Patriots were not trading those picks). McCarthy? Penix? LOL. McCarthy will not even start this season and Penix will likely get beat out by Tua.

So.... Just conveniently leave Nix out of your response?

You don't know this and if Mills is as bad as some around here think he is, that's good for 10 losses in itself.

There would have been a very good chance Case Keenum would have started.

Bo Nix needs a SPECIFIC type of offensive coordinator. Slowik was not it. I don't think they would have drafted him in the first round.

It would seem like CJ would also need a specific OC, no? Slowik was not it. Or Caley. Or.....

Another thing that you dont know.

Did you watch him play at Oregon? He looked like a 1st rd pick to me. He took care of the ball and was very accurate. Only question was his arm strength.

Nix needed a Sean Payton. Even then, Nix was serviceable at best. Broncos won games because of their defense and run game.

Nix played in college for 5 years and is already 26 years old. Older QBs in College look like superstars, doesn't mean they are NFL stars.

Just telling you what I saw and I was happy Payton drafted him. I knew he would be successful.
