[War] Trump surrenders to Iran in a humiliating defeat

Iran has consistently asked for reconstruction. Big win for them if they get it.

Iran’s position has been consistent. The US has been all over the place. Their latest move is adding the Abraham Accords into an already complex negotiation. It feels like they are throwing darts at the wall to see what might work.

How SAD is it that Iran seems more professional and organized than the American administration? It should never be this way. People around the world are probably both fearful of this administration and laughing at it at the same time.

I get that this is his thing he presents himself as. I’m just saying I personally see through it a bit, and get the vibes that something isn’t right. Just don’t trust the guys motives.

Could be wrong though, but just read through how he was producing bad faith argument after bad faith argument during 2023-25 which was pretty helpful for Trump and extremely gratuitous to Putin.

The takes that I can remember (although to preface, I only casually follow his content, and casually followed some of the details for that war, these are all very loosely placed together off the top of my head generalizations from my memory) seemed like the default anti-war libertarian talking points on the Ukraine war.

: Shouldn't be sending money to foreign countries, it's a proxy war and people are being used for the industrial war machine, people are unnecessarily dying, that the people in some of bordering regions (or areas within those regions?) were largely in favorite of separation/independence from Ukraine, NATO promised to not expand and endlessly expanded, and that western media was demonizing Russia and the overall situation as being more irrational/unhinged than what it really was.

I don't know nearly enough about the situation to have an opinion on those general points, but I wasn't shocked to see that be his general position, it seemed like it fit in with his general positions on US conflicts - that the US doesn't involve itself for any ethical or morally righteous reasons, its for money/resources/global domination/power, and that he strongly opposes those justifications for war.

I agree with Amiga, Glen has been a journalist, but he's also clearly a political commentator/influencer/activist.

 

It's weird how Trump hasn't mentioned the Americans injured in Kuwait when he's posted 64 posts on Truth Social the past 24 hours. Same old crap, rants, cartoonish altered reality memes, and of course lots more posts about his vanity projects. His America is Back posts were of course his dream America with all white kids and people in the images.

The part that made me laugh though was the lengths of pure narcissistic delusion he goes to when he wants all the attention. This is a doozy...

What he really meant by "I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN" is that he wants to be surrounded by butt kissing loyalists, donors with huge pockets, and folks too stupid to realize he doesn't give a sh*t about them, and buy up his overpriced Trump merchandise made abroad.

Trump said today that a draft framework to shape future end-of-war talks with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz is near “finalization.”

Trump said the pact’s terms are “largely negotiated” and would be revealed shortly. His statement followed Saturday calls with Middle Eastern leaders and a separate conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Bibi isn't gonna stop his bombing and displacing millions in Gaza or Lebanon, and Iran isn't going to give up it's uranium. Trump will either start bombing Iran again, or drag these so called ceasefires on forever, with random attacks never ceasing.
