I’m not all that distraught that we don’t have a pick in this draft. Turns out it would have been 6th or probably worse had we kept the pick. I do think this draft is strong picks 1-3. After that there seems to be a better chance than most drafts of finding a diamond in the rough. I wouldn’t give up any of our young players for a middlin pick in this draft based on it being a deep draft. In all likelihood, Jabari, Amen, Sengun are better over the next 5 years than anybody taken after the third pick.

I used to not believe the draft industrial complex big board bros, but they are all saying the 27 and 28 drafts are crud.

Like I said, I used to doubt the ability to forecast this far out, but the last time they said this was 2024 draft (Risacher/Sarr/Sheppard/Castle/Holland) and - looks like they were right about that one.

It’s highly doubtful the Nets would trade #6 for both 2027 picks. That kind of gives us an understanding of the value of those picks. I could be wrong. I’m not Sean Marks. But I’d bet on that being their position.

Sarr is fine, but ooh boy, the top 5 drafted rookies last year compared to this year:

    Flagg - Risacher
    Harper - Sarr
    Edgecombe - Sheppard
    Knueppel - Castle
    Bailey - Holland

Last year was a generational draft at the top.

Next season the Suns are paying a combined $114 million to Booker, Jalen Green, and stretching Beal's contract.

In 2029 when Booker is 33 they will be paying a combined $88.7 million to Booker and Beal.

What about Villain? Instead of being underpaid, he'll become way overpaid. And, wont have another season approaching his career year.

How would we judge this? One player? Or a class of players? I think there’s way more depth of really really good talent in the 2026 draft than I’ve seen in a while.

I’m too biased about Flemings as a Coog fan… I think every draft is a crapshoot but sometimes the depth marginalizes the risk some. I think that’s what we’re talking about here.

2025 is also extremely deep. Flagg is prob better than any prospect in 2026 and there were also good prospects in the 2nd round like Klakabrenner and Maxime and even undrafted like Ryan Nembhard.

best case is a combined 16% chance at #1…in a really bad draft. Yay!!! But that’s actually unlikely. More likely is that it’s a combined 13% chance at #1….in a really bad draft. Yay!!! Who needs good odds in a stacked 2026 draft class when you can have 13% odds in a really bad 2027 draft class. Yay!!!

I'm gonna get ahead of this way early but unless he grows 3 or 4 inches, no Jordan Smtih Jr please. He's another super undersized combo scoring guard ugh. Tyran Stokes looks pretty good but it's another case of "gotta learn how to shoot". Bruce Branch gives me Jabari PTSD. Pass on Joksimovic. Braylon Mullins is lottery material. Unfortunately no slam dunk number 1 or super high level tier like in this or the last draft. I think if a team somehow had the top 10 picks in the 2027 draft, they wouldn't be able to trade all 10 together for the 1st in this upcoming one.

Adam Silver loves to hook us up in weak drafts.
