Yao was not the best player on the rockets last year. Steve was better. Yao didn't lead crap last year. Lebron on the other hand took a team that barely won over 10 games the previous season into playoff contention when he was 18 years old. This year he will lead them to a winning record and the playoffs by himself for the most part. And even if Lebron doesn't get any better than he is this year, he will still be better than Kobe and Tmac because the kid bigger than them and can pass better than them. All you have to do is watch Lebron play to know that he understands the game better than Tmac or Kobe.
T-Mac has the Potential to be as good as Kobe, but he doesn't have (the cliche') "IT " As far as Lebron goes, he will be better than Kobe, It doesn't matter that he hasn't done "jack" yet, and he hasn't been in the league two years, its more like 14 months, which I can say confidently that these 14 months have been about 200 times better than Kobe's and T-macs first 24 months.
I saw t mac miss so many shots that I have kobe make this year.i see flashes of kobe every now and then, but kobe has proved to me this year he is much better then t mac.
Kobe!! One reason the hearth to win. While T-mac is settle for jump , Kobe drive the to basket even know he will get hit. That what Jordan is all about the heart to win. And in the end jump-shot is not efficient as two free throw.
It's quite simple. When the rockets began to slide at the end of the season who stepped up and got us into the playoffs? Answer: Francis In the 1st round of the playoffs who are carried our team? Answer: Francis The ratio of games Yao leads is at least 1 to 3
It's even simplier.. Who carried the Rocket's to the point where they had even a chance at the playoffs while Steve played horribly? Answer: Yao (hence the slide off, Yao was too exhausted from carrying the load for 78 games, when Steve finally chose to show up) The 1st round of the playoffs, Yao was busy canceling eachother out with Shaq, while Steve took advantage of the laker backcourt the one team and backcourt he was really consistent against. Yao > Steve last year, no question. Steve doesn't get the lakers int he first round, with his worst seasonal stats of his career without Yao's last year. And his late show nearing the end of the season would be moot, if Yao hadn't gotten us that far before the slide.
I don't think it's even a question. Kobe is the clear winner, both in terms of his talent, where he has a slight edge, and his drive, where he has a large edge. He is determined to prove himself -- whereas McGrady faltered under those same circumstances. The better question is, "who is better - Kobe or LeBron?" It's not nearly as clear-cut as it was last season.
Yes because steve made the team go. Without him, we would be about as good as we are now. Its called intangibles. Where as we would have been fine without Yao last year as we were fine when Yao looked like a bust during his rookie season.
what does Yao has to do with anything? You asked why Lebron Lebron doesn't have the "hasn't won anything" stigma that T-Mac has. You never asked anything about Yao. The critisisme on Yao are not that he never won anything. it is that he doesn't play as good as he can.(atleast at what we expected, and what he showed us he can). Lebron leading to cavs to the play-offs this year, is much better then what yao did last year. Yao was not the best player by far on the rockets last year. we had a great duo and some good players in Mobley and taylor and cato. Lebron has got nobody. This thread is derailing fast. lets look at the progress this thread made: Kobe or T-mac Kobe,T-Mac or Lebron Lebron or Yao Francis or Yao To ad to the original question. i think Kobe is a better player, because he plays with more heart. Atleast this year. we will see in the future who wins more championships
Lebron has nobody? Have you seen Boozer play last year? Z play this year? Why did I bring up up Yao in this argument? Maybe you should remember your own posts. Kind of hard to use T-Mac as a parallel when he's been in the league for 7 years.
People here have really short memories. The Cavs barely won anything 2 years ago because they were TANKING. Remember the whole Tyronne Hill incident? Their win totals did not reflect the level of talent on the team. Their dramatic turnaround, despite what SI or ESPN would lead you believe, was not due to just Lebron.
ok. Bozer doesn't play with him this year. You think Z is just as good as Francis? or Mobley? you asked so i answer your question, i never mentioned Yao.
