Very Nicely Constructed by Nba Reddit Fan. Amazing how it saves money for all teams, and Gives everyone what they need.
To be clear, we are trading Durant, Reed Shepard and 2 first round picks for Jaylen Brown and 2028 first (ORL)?
Durant, 3 firsts, and Sheppard for another guy who fits better as a #2 than a #1? Pass. If we're trading all that, you'd at least like to get the best player in the deal.
Only 3 good 1st round picks out of 5 for the Bucks. Plus they have to take on Grant’s contract. And I don’t think Reed has huge value to teams generally; would have to be a team that really likes him. I just don’t see the Bucks saying yes to this deal. I don’t think Boston is moving on from Brown after a great season either. But definitely creative proposal.
KD and Reed aren't the problem and this trade solves nothing...we need a solid point guard and better 3pt shooters
I mean, it gives us a star player in his prime? Brown gets disrespected because he's not flashy, not media savvy, but the dude is absolutely a perennial all-star player in his prime right now and a two way player. The man literally was in MVP discussions and led his team to a top seed. He'd be the best star player we'd acquire since Harden and should still have a good 5 or so seasons of all-star level ball ahead of him barring career changing injuries.
Its 2 picks via Houston Jaylen Brown a younger Super Star, elite perimeter defender, athleticism, and durable two-way play. 28.7ppg Good trade.
There are a number of multi-team trade constructions you can do that could make some sense. The question is always whether everyone wants to play ball in these scenarios. Tricky to get all of the moving parts to work. I'm definitely talking to Boston this offseason and seeing if the door is even slightly cracked open on moving on from one of the Jays, but I wouldn't get too optimistic.
Tatum has that injury label. I wanted to run it with Jaylen Brown down here for years. No hope for the franchise anyway.
You said to best two of 29 Phx, 29 Dallas and 27 nets pick. It’s 2 net, because of the portland pick via Orlando. We are also giving up a better 3 pt shooter in Jabari for a below average 3 pt shooter in Jaylen who is on a supermax contract. It is not a good trade. If we are going to give up 3 out of our 4 best draft picks, Jabari, and Reed we have to get back much more than one overpaid, albeit, star player. My mistake I was thinking Jabari was in the trade rather than KD. My bad. Still don’t think it is the best way to use our draft picks.
yes, are you kidding? Getting a true superstar under the age of 30 while keeping the two guys on the roster who have all star/ all nba ability already shown and the best two role players? FVV Brown Amen / Tari Jabari Sengun/Adams That's an incredible 7 man start. Brown isn't getting traded. Whoever had this idea, thank you, phone it in. Amen and Sengun still have the shooting issue but by losing Reed, you don't have the defensive worries of the Reed/Sengun combo.
Boston couldn’t get past Phili with Tatum and Brown and a terrific coach. How are we going to get past OKC and SA by substituting Brown and Hauser for KD and Reed and giving up all our best future draft capital with coach Ime. You are right that Brown is an Ime type player, although Brown was pretty critical of Ime as his head coach. The op said it would fix our shooting issues. I can’t for the life of me figure out how.
our biggest need is consistent outside shooting... so were giving up our best 2 shooters and a pick for a sub 36% career 3 pt shooter... im gonna pass...
Jabari wouldn't be part of this trade otherwise I'd be against it since it would be giving up too much. Still, if this was onthe table I'd seriously consider doing it...I still think Reed has amazing potential but the starting lineup would be something amazing and I know people don't want to hear it but... KD is still KD on offense but on defense he's slipped...A lot. Especially playing in space, he can still hone in and contest shots though but if you look at KD in his prime on defense he was a true two way player as well. He's not really that anymore? I think for this reason Jaylen would be an improvement, especially with what Ime wants to do, and Jaylen clearly wants to be THE guy, based on his comments the other day. Also just as he's getting out of his prime, the rest of our guys should be entering theirs. Yeah, they just got eliminated in the first round but remember this was supposed to be a tanking year for them with no Tatum and remember this is a literal Finals MVP, so it's not like he's not a winning player. He really is the most disrespected star in the league, you look at his resume though and its outside of the elite elite guys, its about as good as anyone else's. Maybe we can move the parts around some though on the trade but if the general idea is should we trade for Jaylen Brown. Yes. Like, unless Amen develops a shot or Reed really turns into Curry we are not getting another MVP sub 30 year old MVP candidate to fall into our laps. I doubt Boston would want to even consider trading him.
