8 kids shot to death, and it’s not even mentioned by a number of MSM. Gun violence is so normal that this isn’t even a national shock and will soon be pushed aside. Sick nation

8 children dead after mass shooting in Louisiana, police say | AP News

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A Louisiana father fatally shot eight children, including seven of his own, during an early morning attack on his family Sunday that stretched across two houses in a Shreveport neighborhood left shaken by one of the nation’s deadliest mass shootings in recent years, police said.

Two women, including the gunman’s wife who was the mother of their children, were also shot and critically injured, according to Shreveport Police Department spokesperson Chris Bordelon. Officials said the children — who were all killed in the same house — ranged in age from 3 to 11 years old.

The gunman, identified as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, died after a police pursuit that ended with officers firing on him, according to Bordelon. Authorities did not say what may have set off the violence but Bordelon said detectives were confident the shooting was “entirely a domestic incident.”

The attack was the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. in more than two years.

“I just don’t know what to say, my heart is just taken aback,” Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith said. “I cannot begin to imagine how such an event could occur.”

Bordelon said police were familiar with Elkins, who had been arrested in a 2019 firearms case, but he said officials were not aware of any other domestic violence issues.

    ...

Seven children were killed inside the second house, and one was found dead on the roof after apparently trying to escape, Bordelon said. Another child jumped off the roof and was expected to survive after being taken to a hospital.

It was the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. since eight people were killed in a Chicago suburb in January 2024, according to a database maintained by The Associated Press and USA Today in partnership with Northeastern University.

It's such a tragic and horrifying story. At least most of the children were shot in their sleep, and never saw it coming, but the scene must have traumatized anyone who saw it, especially when most of the kids were shot in the head.

The saddest part is that the signs were there, and people close to him knew he had a gun.

Crystal Brown, a cousin of one of the wounded women. Brown told the AP that Elkins shared four children with his wife and three with another woman who lived close by, and Brown added that Elkins and his wife were due in court Monday.

Relatives of Elkins speaking to the Times said he had been recently struggling with his mental health and his relationship with his wife.

The Times reported that on Easter Sunday earlier this month, Elkins called his mother Mahelia and his stepfather Marcus Jackson. The two told the Times that their son sounded despondent and had said through tears that he wanted to take his own life as he was inundated with “dark thoughts” as his wife sought a divorce.

“I told him, ‘You can beat stuff, man. I don’t care what you’re going through, you can beat it,’” Jackson said. “Then I remember him telling me: ‘Some people don’t come back from their demons.’”

And indeed, the coverage effectively vanishes after a day or two. Eight kids gunned down like animals, and it's treated like just another weekend in America.

School shootings - are real - and should be dealt with, but the GOP is busy faking assassination attempts because they want a ballroom.

NO, the shooting at the WHCD is real.

The problem is the same: the US has ease of access to guns, there is a lack of mental health resources, there are crazy and unstable people, and there is all the divisiveness.

The difference is that, unlike 99% of the public, top-level officials have a security detail, and that is exactly what played out last night. The suspect was caught where he should have been caught and never breached security. That is how it is supposed to work when you have trained protection.

The real comparison is between that outcome and the 8 kids who were recently gunned down in La. They had no security detail, no trained protection, nobody to step in. In a nation with this problem, high-level gov officials are relatively secure, but ordinary citizens are not, and that includes every child sitting in our schools.

shooting seems about as staged and fake as the last one they tried where his ear got shot but was magically healed when he was seen the next day

desperate ploy to try and garner sympathy and increase his garbage approval rating and also pitch his little ballroom

Your evidence must be extremely convincing to you, just like the evidence was extremely convincing to the folks who 100% believe the 2020 election was stolen.
