It's obvious the luster has worn off Yao's game, but Steve looked like garbage with JVG. TMac has the worst field goal percentage of his career so far. JVG is doing something wrong. I don't know what it is, but I think one of the end results is that the team is a very poor jumpshooting team. Teams like the Kings do something different that allows their players to flourish in environments that are conducive to their skills. This current team is stifling its players and forcing the players to be put in positions to fail. I'd rather have a coach who puts his players in positions to succeed.

Do you lot understand that Sam Smith writes craps?

He maybe able to hit the jackpot once every decade or two, but usually his stuff stinks.

    Good points. Well Said!

I wonder why Yao didn't speak up himself. How would you expect Yao grab more rebounds after all that (running from one side to another, set high screen, run back to box out the opponent forward..)

Houston media is way too harsh on Yao, after all. he's still the best player or second best on this team (18/7 is not too bad a number) Guess Houston can't wait to drive Yao out of town following Francis.

It also seems to me JVG never realized/admitted he's part of the problems. He too shared the blame in my opinion.

Lakers is a good option for Yao , especially Rudy is there now.

I think it has something to do with demanding intense defense and hustle. It messes up your rhythm.

 ........Oh give me a break. You were probably one of the same people who said Rudy did not like Yao and Rudy did not know how to coach a big man. Steve didn't want someone else coming in and taking his team away so he didn't pass to Yao. Then my favorite line, Steve had a bad game on purpose just prove how valuable he is to the team.

Edit to put the " " in

There is no doubt in my mind that JVG is in way over his head and is pretty much the most overrated coach in the league. Regardless of what you might think about the team/personnel -- if Jerry Sloan or Gregg Popovich were coaching this team, we would NOT be sub-500. JVG is getting outcoached on a nightly basis. Great coaches get the most out of the talent they have -- JVG seems intent on his talent getting the most out of his system. It's totally backwards.

as long as Lenny Wilkens is still coaching, JVG will never be the most overrated.

If only Rudy T didn't get cancer.
    And Eddie didn't screw up.
And had we kept Steve, Cat, and Cato.
We'd be in pretty good shape right now.

If Sloan were our coach, we would be 10-5 instead of 6-9 to say the least.
