From this early season, our dynamic duo does not resemble Kobe and Shaq.

Yao is passive and enjoys jumpers and soft hooks like Rik Smits.
    Shaq just dunks.
Tmac doesnt take over games like Kobe and takes way too many outside 3s. just like Reggie Miller!

Right now, our duo is not as good as:
    Dwayne Wade and Shaq
    LeBron and Big Z
    Ron Artest and Jermaine ONeal
    Kobe and Chris Mihm

    Oh guys, Dec 7th.
    JUWAN HOWARD BOBBLE HEAD NIGHT!
    :D

Since we resemble the Pacers, maybe we should get some of their ex-players?
    Where's Travis Best? He's better than Lue/Ward
What about Jalen Rose? He's versatile and can handle the ball.
Antonio Davis? The Bulls want to get rid of him.

Hill isn't a center. He's playing well. They are doing well considering Cuttino is out.

With the way Yao's played the last few games, that's an insult to Smits.

Will JVG pull a DNP for Juwan on Juwan-Bobble head night?

that pacer team was able to make it to the finals...

if we can find players like the davis brothers instead of the charmin brothers (mo/howard)we would be a very good team as well.

Antonio and Dale Davis are not related. But I do agree if they were younger they would fit our team nicely.

Yao will wind up being a better Jabbar with a better personality. At the end of his career, Smits won't even be remembered in the same breath as him. Yao is slow, like Larry Bird, but he is quick, he has a quick first step and move. He is quicker than Jabbar and faster than Smits.

And TMac has more skills than just a jumper. He is a scorer and a playmaker. But he lacks the drive of Jordan and Magic. Nonetheless, still a much more gifted player than Miller.

These two have the potential to be great together. They just need the right system that maximizes their skills.

Jopatmc, are u into drugs lately? Yao is showing no progress out there. In his third year and were still talking of potentials????????? Is this another benoit benjamin or sam bowie in the making here??????? At least rik smits played in his potentials. He didnt dominate but he was effective with reggie and the davises. Plus u have a decent small forward in schrempf then mckey. Plus a great coach in brown. But my point here is its getting to worrisome to talk about yao's potentials. Are we still waiting for him to break out???? Amare was good in his first year, second year he put up better numbers than yao although it was a fluke becoz he's team is losing and he didnt have a pg to compliment him. NOw, he is tearing the league apart leaving yao eat his dust in almost all categories. Right now, all the gm's in the league will surely pick him over yao at this point in their careers. Another is lebron. In his first five games, he showed he has potential. And right now, he is one of the top five players in the game. Thats potential for u. And definitely, nobody in his right mind would pick a yao ming over lebron james if both entered the draft the same year.

Even if you're right, I don't mind. That Pacers team was sick. However, I think we both know Reggie Miller could never dream of doing all the things T-Mac is capable of doing and Yao still has the potential to be great. If all Yao can ever be is Smits like though, that isn't so bad. Smits was a solid player.

    Come on.

Yao is better than Rik Smits. Rik Smits shoot jumpers, Yao actually can score from the low block.

You dont' ask Rik Smits to do Shaq's job. What you do is to pair the guy with the Davis brothers and all is set.

Actually the team with Steve, Cat, Posey (or JJ), Cato, Yao is a pretty good team if Steve can reduce his TOs and make better decisions on the court.

Unfortunately, what Rox has now is the 19-win Orlando team plus Yao. It is not a good team, period.

maybe I would go to the game to get the Juwan Bobble Head so I can use it as a voodoo doll.

But I thought to myself, Juwan is already cursed! maybe if I stick a pin him he would pass the ball, or actually not brick his shots.

calm down dude, Yao needs just an attitude change. He needs to have this Hakeem mentality that he will take it strong to the hoop. He needs one of those Hakeem quadruple double nights.

When Smits and Miller were in their primes, the Pacers other 3 starters were

    Dale Davis
    Derrick McKey
    Mark Jackson

    Oh, and they also had

Byron Scott, Antonio Davis, Sam Mitchell, and Haywoode Workman off the bench.

If the Rockets had THOSE players surrounding Yao and T-Mac instead of our current group, I guarantee we're not 6-9 right now.
