Back to the original Rockets conference before 1980, let's do it again . Right, the NBA moved Houston and San Antonio into the West with new expansion team Dallas. So simplistically, the movement was specifically for making a Texas triangle. Unless they go no conferences & divisions, will probably stay that way into perpetuity
You need to remember in the NBA there are a new crop of players every year. Plenty of GARM threads about the perfect fit players we need to grab every season. But right or wrong, the FO is more interested in evaluating what we have.
eh, I think we have a #1 in KD and a #2 in Sengun, what we haven't fleshed out is the primary playmaker (who can protect the ball) and the 3-4-5 options. They keep trying to make Amen the point guard and fist option in transition but it's killing the offensive flow. It's what's best for Amen but not necessarily the team. The Rockets average about 14 transition points per game, even if Amen accounts for half of that, 3 turnovers caused by double teams virtually negates that - Sengun and KD both average 3.2 turnovers, many caused by double teams. The first 8 seconds of a possession start with him getting the ball up the court and looking to attack - if its there take it, all seems fine until it isn't there for him and the next several seconds of that 24 second shot clock are spent attempting to get the ball to KD / Sengun or Reed with KD and Sengun often double teamed complicating matters. Once they do catch it - usually beyond the 3 point line, half the shot clock is burned up and the rest of the possession is rushed. Neither of them should be catching at the 3 point line either - Sengun in the post and Durant around the FT line extended / short wing is his spot. It's actually worse than FVV walking it across the timeline and starting the possession at ~18 seconds. Once Amen is in his spot, his defender usually hedges towards the paint (Sengun) or wing shooter (Jabari / Tari) essentially covering both players - leaving a free defender to double / blitz the ball. That's why KD and Sengun see such a high volume of double teams. It's pretty amazing that KD is still shooting 51/40/89 despite the high volume of double teams. I'm beginning to think that you'd get more out of everyone else with Amen on the bench and Tari in his place. Reed KD Tari Jabari Sengun All this defense first crap is just that, crap - good offense always beats good defense - who scores the most wins. That group has 3 guys shooting 40%+ from distance and a 3rd shooting ~37%. Pick your poison. I'd wager that Sengun's efficiency numbers would significancy increase and his double team numbers would decline as would Durant's because of the gravity on the perimeter. F*** this defense defense defense crap, shoot / run teams out of the building.
Ant Edwards donte dinvicenzo went down first half for wolves but he went off ..... Wtf man bulls was practically gifting him practically for free knowing they going to fire sale including artikuras. Send them 2nd rounders and DFS carcass ala artest for shemac Not our year your @$$ and firing back at us fans
This is a lesson that you never know what injuries will happen throughout the season or the playoffs, so to give up on the year like Stone did is unacceptable and a fireable offense.
last two playoff games: 43 pts on 17 shots in a critical playoff game. My goodness. 25 pts on 15 shots (plus 9 ast, 2 TO)
I don't think it's about that. Stone and Ime want maximum flexibility and all of their assets to pursue Giannis.
The more I think about the more I believe that Stone and the rest of the Org. stopped caring about this season the moment Fred went down. I really hope it continues to blow up in their face. They disrespected the game and did not make the most out of this season. It's a shame. They passed up on Koby White, Ayo, and CJ. If they were serious about winning this year, they would have done something to replace Fred this year, not just leave it to chance.
This performance by Ayo truly screams that Stone needs to be gone. Together with Kenard solid games vs. us and White heroic game in Hornets’ Play-in win vs. Heat. Three solid Gs that actually were on sale for cheap, but that a**h*** just claimed it is not our year and gave up trying. Sending DFS + some draft capital wouldn’t hurt our future, while saving our poor present.
This idiot Stone sat on his ass like usual when we could have gotten an actual scoring guard for free at a position that was the most needed. I hate that clown so much. I hope we lose by 40 so the chances of him getting canned increases.
