I don’t really want the Texans to make any trades. Just make the picks. I especially don’t want to give up picks in order to move up. At this point all of this is a big crapshoot and no one knows which of these players will pan out. I like having more picks rather than fewer picks, so moving back a few spots to pick up another pick is okay. But sometimes it feels like Nick is wheeling and dealing just to look smart. I really hope to see the Texans focus on offense in the early rounds. Our offense needs help, let’s not kick the can down the road. We can focus on defense next year. The offense needs help NOW.
According to ESPN, there are only 12 guys that get a 1st round grade. Though it’s been said this draft is considered very good for finding quality depth and adding talent to a team. I saw it considered good for linebacker, edge rushers, offensive lineman. Not so much for QB’s and RB’s. I suppose it would only be wise to trade up if the fella targeted is a legit 1st round difference maker. You don’t want to trade your assets for depth level talent; when the rest of the draft should have plenty of quality depth.
