An innings eater that can dominate, but suffers from time bombs. That’s better than anything they’ve got.
Pitching staff has a 6.15 ERA. The worst in MLB. A .262 team batting average. 3rd best in MLB. A 6.15 team ERA…..no chance.
It’s interesting that Burrows was traded after Murphy arrived in Pittsburgh. Curious if had input on the trade and if he signed off on it
Interesting: Vazquez and Allen starting back to back games. Paredes starting after his leg issue last night.
I’m not sure I’m buying the leg issue. There’s no way it was bad enough he couldn’t bat last night in a critical AB and then today he’s well enough to play.
I don't think that's really true. It could have just been a tweak or something that felt scary but wasn't actually a big deal. In the moment, you don't take the chance. Today he's DHing, so that indicates they are at least trying to be a little careful. If he doesn't feel good, it's also much easier to sub out a DH without any real disruption.
Correa does not want to play SS everyday. Diaz isn't hitting well enough (or catching well enough) to be the everyday C right now. Paredes' leg is being held together with glue... and is one over-extension away from being torn again... but they need him to hit.
still waiting for paredes to turn up it's only april and i'm sick and tired of nick allen already are there even any houston nick allen fans out there?
