at this rate we're gonna need the tiebreaker from 94-95 to win that bet b/c i'm pretty sure never is tied with never. Good for the Magic. Good for them. I'd rather have this Rocket team over a Magic team led by a selfish point guard. I see years and years of 1st or 2nd round exits for the Magic. why do you care if magic fans are happy. they were 1-19 last year, now they're 8-4 and things actually seem fun. can only title contenders or just the champions be happy? 2nd round exits are better than before so i'd be happy too. just like i'm mad that we're 6 and freakin' 9 when we used to be better. on the plus side, every loss just gets us one step closer to he who should not step foot near our offense being gone.
Until Tracy McGrady gets out of the first round, what gives? The Magic have an 18 year old power forward with freakish talent and many more complementary pieces than the Rockets -- the sky is the limit. Going back to a previous comment, that same Indiana that the Magic barely squaked out a win against came back and beat Minnesota. The Magic beat the Lakers, beat the Jazz, and beat the Mavs. I'd rather have a selfish PG who is averaging 6.4 assists per game and playing alongside one of the most unselfish players in the game than, oh, whoever the Rockets decide to trot out at PG next game playing alongside one of the most selfish players in the game. Point being that there's a counterargument for every argument out there, and only time will tell as to which side turns out the winner. The Rockets, in the meanwhile, have some problems that need to be ironed out before they can claim to be title contenders....yet alone on the same level as the Magic.
Can Magic bandwagoners please get off this Rocket ride. Let us talk about this come March and see where both teams are at by then. C-Ya. Go Rockets!!!
Yeah, it's all about the Rockets. Come playoff time, it is impossible to picture a team that can beat the rockets 4 times in a 7 game series. The Rockets are just getting started, they can afford to lose some games and establish familiarity, then turn it up several notches higher and show the NBA that they are a legitimate title contender.
Let's just worry about our own stinking team. F Orlando. I have no reason to gve a rats a-ss to how they perform. Just B, I don't understand and frankly could care less that you have posted so much on this site. Perhaps you were a Francis fan while in Orlando. Perhaps you were a Rockets fan that jumped ship when Francis left Whatever the case, Orlando fans need to lurk at their own site. If you post here, you can expect some negative feedback. Even from those that have a perception that the Rockets are a better team. I call it "Rocket denial".
ok we lost to the lakers, jazz, hawks, and will most likley lose to the mavs so ,how are we in any better shape then the magic?Iam a big rockets fans and didn't want to see this season go to waste.I guess we didn't learn from the barkley trade.
I am watching vs kings game. It already hapenned couple times in the first quarater. Yao got perfect position and got single covererd, then they swinged the ball to other side. Yao ran to other side, reposted, and ended with worse position.
why do it hurt some of you guys that the magic and francis are doing so well? They are 8-4 and winning with stevenson starting at the 2guard, how good will they be when mobley is healthy? Dwight Howard is going to be one of the best big men in the nba in a year of two, and they will truly be a threat for a championship. The rockets first have lock yao up in a contract, anc attract free agents to fill there roster out, and with zone and how the nba call fouls now having a center post down low is not all that important anymore.
Bitterness that the trade is working out better for the Magic then it did for the Rockets. As a Rocket fan how could you not help but be bitter that they are doing so well and we are stinking the compaq center up night-after-night.
I enjoy watching the magic and I am a rockets fan, but the rockets are hard to watch even when they win. with the rule changes vangundy defence will always have yao in foul trouble, what is so hard about letting yao play a mini zone and stop covering screens and just protect the middle?
I don't understand this technique. I have never seen a successful post player use this technique. I don't think they should move him around so much on the offensive side. He gets tired way to quickly. This extra running around and reposting requires additional energy. He should get good position and ask for the ball. Then the teams will double team him. He can decide to shoot or pass the ball to the open man. We should have guys around the perimeter cutting to the basket or ready to shoot the mid-range shot or three pointer. I know some of you might say it is easier said then done, but we did it before. Sometimes it's amazing how people try to reinvent the wheel. Van Gundy should be looking at some of those championship Rocket teams. They were built around this concept. Granted Yao is not Hakeem, but I think it will give us a better shot of using the talents we have on the team. Also, we need Weatherspoon in the game to fill the Otis Thorpe role. I think he should be the starting Power Forward not Dike as some people say. We need Dike to come off of the bench.
I thouht you didn't like the trade for the magic when it happened. I always that we shouldn't have given up Cat, but oh well. I still think it is a good trade from both sides. We just need to get rid of JVG.
The problems have nothing to do with T-Mac, Franchise or Cat. They're all shorter than our big problem.
Except that no business man in his right mind would trade Yao. Too bad the NBA's more about money than winning.
