    sorry folks, i have never criticized Van Gundy until now, but this is now getting to be too much. When you take a talent like McGrady and mess him up so much in your offense that he has nights like this, something with the coaching strategy is wrong.

    I looked at Houstons schedule for November and December November no doubt was bad month, but despit that I feel that they could have a very positive Decmber if they just learn to rebound and Yao comes to play everynight. :(

    No offense, but I don't see where Yao had such a bad night. OK, the rebounds and turnovers weren't great, but the guy had only 9 shots and made 4 of them. Didn't McGrady and Jackson have much worse nights shooting? Was he passing the ball out too much?

    Man, I am hoping that we are in a transition phase like the Lakers were pre Phil Jackson, when they had Shaq and Kobe but could not do much. Maybe we need a coaching change too to get things rolling.

    I am not saying we get Phil but damn anybody would do now I guess. Who is available out there, Del Harris, George Karl? Somebody do something a trade, a coach something.

    If this team really gave up on Van Gundy then I guess Steve was really a team player then. He did not like the system but he was trying to change for the sake of the team

    Here is the biggest reason we lost the game,
    ....

    5-18 by J. Jackson. How can a team win any games when a guy like Jackson took 18 shots, the 2nd closet one took only 11? It's not like he is on fire, or something.

    Just out of curiosity, Does anyone know what it would take for JVG to be replaced by another coach? Is it realistically possible for JVG to be replaced>? and when?

    I dont think he will be fired this season unless we are really really bad (like right now). No way les pays for a buyout of his contract. Best case senerio is that he gets canned after this season. Thats my guess.

    I'm not worrying yet. The Rockets are going to make the playoffs, and it is tough to beat them 4 times in a 7 game series.

    Sura looks good.. as long as he continues to condition, he'll break the starting lineup..

    I believe in this team.

    Bench player? How preposterous! Yao is not a bench player! Juwan Howard is, I believe he was a DNP-CD (maybe he is hurt, I dunno) but Yao is just in a funk, great players go in funks and I'm absolutely positive that Yao will snap out of it next game.

    As for Mac, he did well, since he cannot hit a shot (also a fluke, he could be in a funk too but that's ok, great players can turn it up by next game) he ended up getting several free throws. That's a positive sign.

    I really believe in this team and I know it's only a matter of time before the Rockets start on a winning streak.

    If you saw the article in the Chronicle, JVG is preparing his exit out of Houston. He said there were going to be big changes if the Rox don't start winning and that Les was not one to accept a mediocre team. It is still to early to write JVG's epitaph or to write off the Rox season but if the Rox are well below .500 after the mid-point of the season, then you might see JVG pull a Hubie Brown and resign, losing really eats this guy up.

    Seems like there is no one stepping up. These stats are horrible, you can't win many NBA games with numbers like these. I hope this is an aberration and not a pattern or an indication of the talent on this team.

    Tell that to Shaq. Or Steve Nash.

    We can all make a bazillion excuses for Yao:

    * culture shock
    * differences in demeanor between cultures
    * still adjusting to the NBA
    * language difficulties
    * exhausted

    The list goes on and on. At some point, the big guy has to grow a pair and step up. Otherwise, he'll go down in history as someone who had all the talent in the world but was just a headcase.

    Sometimes, it looks like we've got Yao Barely Cares out there.
