I love Amen and his form is much improved this year, but most of those are not considered mid-range shots which are from the free throw line out to the three point line. He has been terrible from the mid-range this year, but his ft shooting and the form on these lane shots is promising in my opinion and believe he will extend his range next year.

I’m really happy to see him looking explosive after that scary injury. His 3 point shooting has regressed unfortunately with the additional responsibility of being a point guard. Reed and must play significant minutes together vs the Lakers in the playoffs.

That's not really a shade to Castle as much as it is a shade to anyone who moronically thinks they are comparable players. Castle can be great in his role, which he is right now we will see come playoff time how effective he will he when defenses are daring him to shoot, while also not being comparable to the de facto peak of his particular archetype.

Its like comparing Donovan Clingan and Victor Wembanyama. Both are impact defenders and just because Clingan isnt Wemby it doesnt make him not impactful. But also saying that he's comparable to Wemby is pretty stupid.

 

I'd be interested to see how those match up compared to SF's instead, as he's clearly not actually a guard.

 

Agreed, he looks more fluid shooting compared to the past, but his percentages are not there yet. Mostly this season he has shown that he can take on a higher volume and have roughly the same efficiency. I expect that if he is going to take another big leap, it will be next season. Late this year, he has made himself central in what the Rockets do down the stretch - as opposed to be a supporting player.

I just don't agree with all the homerism tbh, that last one was just to poke at the people ridiculously claiming he's the best defender on the planet, and reiterating that that lines up EXACTLY with where I positioned him as a defender across the league. Funny that, isn't it? Realism lines up with everybody else, homerism makes you look high-key r****ded when "the best defender on the planet" doesn't even make the first team. But sure, go ahead, feel free to argue he's the best around when he's not even top 5, that definitely makes me the crazy one, not you.

 

I never called you crazy. I implied it’s dumb and simplistic to equate a list based on odds on twitter with the 5 best defenders in the league. And I said you go out of your way to crap on Amen an awful lot for someone who claims to like him.

I stand by both of those statements and I don’t see how they’re homerism.
