Can't quite put my finger on it, but something seems to be missing from this photo.

If true, and it is sensible (what a laughable, sad mess). I guess once some type of real agreement is made, the US will need to help clear the mines. But I doubt Iran would trust US ships there, so maybe someone else will need to do the clearing.

US officials claim Iran unable to find mines it laid in strait of Hormuz, report says | Strait of Hormuz | The Guardian

Iran is unable to find the mines it laid in the strait of Hormuz and does not have the capacity to remove the explosives, preventing Iran from allowing more traffic through the waterway, the New York Times reported, citing US officials.

US officials have said that Iran placed mines in the strait erratically, and may not have marked where it put all of them. Some mines also drifted or moved from their original location, US officials suggested.

Neither Iran nor the US have the capacity to quickly demine the strait, particularly after the US destroyed much of Iran’s navy.

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, previously said that the strait would be opened “with due consideration of technical limitations,” which US officials have interpreted as referring to challenges in demining the waterway.

The strait has also remained mostly closed to traffic as Iran insisted that the two week ceasefire also include Lebanon. Iran and mediator Pakistan have said the US knew stopping Israeli strikes in Lebanon was part of the ceasefire deal, despite US vice-president JD Vance claiming there was a “misunderstanding” between the two countries over Lebanon.

Can't find or won't find? Pretty much nobody expects this cease-fire to hold so why would they give the Strait back now?

Also, we moved our one ship that can do the anti-mine work out of the ME before the war. Another brilliant maneuver by Hagueseth.

Hmmm. I guess Iran does have a card or two. Who could have known?

“Iran still has thousands of ballistic missiles in its arsenal that it could use by retrieving launchers from underground storage areas, according to American officials familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“The assessments come as the U.S. is working to cement a cease-fire that would fully open the Strait of Hormuz and also insulate Iran, American troops and states in the region from further attacks.”

"With Chuck Norris gone, I would forego the ground invasion personally. You need about 200,000 troops to WIN THIS WAR OUTRIGHT! And, it will be hard! If Chuck were still here, then you only need a small team...REALLY SMALL!"

Someone is really bored with this war and wants to move on.

This admin is going to end this one way or another, soon, even if there isn't a permanent cease fire with Israel. The strait will have to reopen as well, once the war with the US ends. Iran will find some way to monetize it directly or indirectly. There won't be any new nuke deal, or if there is one, it's weak - but then again, controlling the strait by be enough for the Iranian.

    • Islamabad talks between the U.S. and Iran have hit a full stalemate and are on the verge of collapse

    • Iran came to the table with four formal demands — not negotiating positions, demands

    • Iran state media says the U.S. is pushing “extravagant” demands of its own

    • Stalemate centers on the Strait of Hormuz — Iran wants full control, the U.S. proposed joint control, Iran said no

    • Disputed Strait of Hormuz incident — Iran says it forced a U.S. destroyer to retreat; the U.S. denies it

    • Conflicting claims over whether the U.S. released frozen Iranian assets as a goodwill gesture

    • Israel privately assesses the talks will collapse and is already threatening a “severe and comprehensive” next strike on Iran

    • Netanyahu pushing the U.S. to separate Lebanon from any Iran deal

@Commodore @strosb4bros but the MAGA cucks said Iran had no leverage and the strait would automatically be open?

    Iran’s 4 demands

    1. Authority over the Strait of Hormuz
    2. Payment of war reparations
    3. Unfreezing of all blocked Iranian financial assets
    4. Securing a comprehensive regional ceasefire

So we can have automatic military registration, but not automatic voter registration?

He's such an attention seeking Diva. He will say anything to stay in the headlines. I'm sure he's told his Attorney General, FBI Chief, Secretary of Defense, and every brown shirt he appointed that if they get caught covering his crimes he will pardon them, and if they commit criminal acts themselves he will pardon them. It's one big administration of brown shirts who feel invincible to the laws domestically and internationally. When you put a lying felon, fraudster, rapist, pedo, and self&serving grifter in charge, that's what you get.

The dude is making billions off his Presidency and still has the audacity to post today how he works for free, unlike other Presidents. LOL The old man is posting about his White House UFC fights today. Of course, like everything else he promotes, he gets a bit of side hustle on the down low, straight into his pockets. A grifters gotta grift, and he is the biggest grifting con in Presidential history. It isn't even close.

Sounds like a total failure. Bad news. Escalate or walk away. Dropping bombs from the air isn’t going to cut it. May have to load up on oil stocks here.
