The two players that got Sheppard’s minutes scored 2 points in 50 minutes. The Rockets also gave up nearly 150 points.

The issue is that Alpren Sengun cannot guard his shadow. He can’t switch over well enough. He doesn’t defend the lane at all and struggles to stay in front of his man. If the Rockets got an elite rim protector next to him, that would help the defensive issue - but that doesn’t address the lack of shooting.

Sengun for his own career needs to be on a team that can cover his weaknesses an the Rockets need someone that isn’t such a hard fit.

The crazy thing is that win streak is built off staggering Reed and Holiday, so that you have a ball handler on the court at all times. Stone even converted JD Davison, so Dumbdoka now has THREE guard options.

Nah bro lets play Okogie and Tari who are both bricking for the entire game lol

The only reason I think Sengun is because I think he is who he is at this point and I think by trading him for the RIGHT pieces, they can change the schematics of the offense/team....PLAY A MORE MODERN STYLE OF OFFENSE

Rockets cant beat any of the top teams without injury help because our coach is too dumb. We have West Coast Doc Rivers he has 0 clue how to do any adjustments and puts the wrong combination of guys on the court. Even when he stumbles into a winning formula, he still reverts into these godawful defensive lineups that dont defend and dont score. Every single win we have always due to talent and ISO skills of KD and Sengun.

Any 7 game series vs OKC, SAS, Nuggs, LAL and Wolves if they arent devastated by injury I think the Rox lose that series because our coach sucks too much. How you lose to Wolves with banged up Ant and missing Gobert and Randle? Amen, KD and Sengun were tearing it up and we still lose SMH. This is 100% coaching malpractice.

fwiw: Sengun’s comments and the Athletic article are saying this came out of the team meeting in Memphis after the Minny collapse. It takes awhile for media to start addressing the change, based upon wanting proof…and in this case 6-games in a row of 30+ assists is what the Athletic article was about.

Look at this way: tweaking an offense works best when the players are essentially asking for it, too. Not to say you shouldn’t demand it year round, but rather saying it can fall on deaf ears. Maybe this is an example of organic change from group buy-in

Reed can’t guard his own shadow.

Had a top 5 defense last year with that Turkish cone. (You can even give the credit to Fred/Dillon/Jalen/Amen. But that same “Turkish Cone” was out there.) If they’re getting to the rim, sounds like they’re beating someone on the perimeter, on their way to the rim. Why can’t the other guys, the perimeter guys (besides Amen) guard their guys?

Why doesn’t Reed guard his guy, stop gambling, take a charge every once in a while, and stop giving reach arounds like he’s Dianna Russini?

12 points, 6 points, 12 points, 11 points, 12 points, 27 points, 20 points, 6 points, 10 points, 15 points, 13 points, 23 points, 14 points, 11 points, 11 points, 18 points, 9 points, 7 points. … how is that any different than the guy we just got rid of? (Oh and with none of the star highs)

If he ain’t hitting shots, he’s useless.

Writing is on the wall. We dont need someone who is better than Sengun just someone who does the Steven Adams thing better and younger than Steven Adams (Donovan Clingan).

Not that big of a deal.

A no name TimberW player hits 4 or 5 threes, and 90% of their other shots. Defense was a problem last night, but it was also: the other team was just simply hot and hit almost everything. It's amazing that the Rocket's offense actually kept up.

Fluke game. 9/10 times, the Rockets win if they are this eff offensively.

(but the late TOs is still an issue)

We’re playing the Nuggets not the Lakers so quit worrying about Luca. Worry about playing on the road against a much better Nuggets team. Thanks Stone for all the moves at the deadline that could’ve prevented all the turnovers that eventually dropped us to the 5 seed and at Denver.

Hope they fly to Memphis for a day trip and we don’t lose until the 2nd round.

Nope. Rockets shooting 62% or whatever it was is once in a blue moon event.

You've lost it recently man. Is it the "schit gun" and "Reed Green" spectrum this time? Or are we back at the “black VG” extreme..

Your posts used to be better when you didn't wait 10 or so games to post a lame meme you've been working on all week dedicated at focusing on a guy playing less than 20mpg the last several games.

I get it though Black VanGundy is your guy now. All it took was a couple of games..ironically due to the guy you wait to post about lmao

I see. It does seem that way, but due to rule changes this year and in previous years, I think that's a problem with every team. 3pt shooting is at a premium because of that as well. It's so much easier for 3pt shooters today than it was 10 years ago. Yet the best team in the league actually focuses more on defending the paint than the 3pt line.

NBA stats actually have the Rockets as a pretty good 3pt defensive team.

You do realize Reeds TS and 3 point percentage is higher now than jalen’s best year in the nba right?
