Well it's almost been a year since several of you helped me set up my fish tank and I thought I would just drop a thread and let everybody know what's happening. My tank has been going well and I have to give credit to those on the board that helped in doing so. In my tank I have a group of mini neon tetras and guppies. One of them laid eggs or is livebearers because during the past few hours I have had baby fish start popping up and I check it about every 30 minutes and there are more and more. That's the main reason I'm posting. I think it is pretty cool but I doubt many, if any, live that long. My tank has been going well with no problems at all, just thought I'd update it and tell you people that like aqauriums too. Thanks for your help guys 'm really enjoying it.

Congrats. Pre-cycling the tank really pays off. I'm not sure about the tetras, but guppies are prolific livebearers, just like mollies.

    good job Pun. ;)

post some pics for christ sake...you know the rule..:p

btw..you are right that the fry wont last long, cause the adults will eat them(mroe than likely)..if you want to save em...either net them out and put them in a little tank, or use a large amount of short grasses for them to hide in..putting a bunch of larger stones(marble sized) in the bottom may also provide them with crevices to hide in.

damn, that reminds me...Im overdue on a water change..:(

    nice stuff Lil Pun

my tank is also going nicely, bought a couple more dwarf honey gouramis today (damn they are a ncie colour and very friendly compared to most other gouramis)

also bought a few guppies, they are some nice colour as long as the survive initially as i have a couple of panchax's that seem to see the tails as food

hoping for some fish money/vouchers for Xmas want to expand my cardinal school and also restock my school of black neons

Thanks guys. R2K, I have plenty of hiding spots, I believe, already for the fry. I am wanting them to survive though, it would give me an excuse to buy that new 55 gallon tank I've been eyeing. I'll probbly go buy a few pots of grass though and throw them in the tank, couldn't hurt. Thanks again guys.

BTW, I'll post some pics as soon as webshots stops acting up and lets me post them.

If you are interested in raising the neonates (new borns) you can you might want to finely crush the flake the flake food assuming that is what you are using. Reason is b/c their mouths are small and probably the only thing they are eating now is algae.

I great source of food is Artemina (better know as SeaMonkeys). They are a saltwater organism you can feed them to fresh water fish. They love it. When feeding artemina you want to rise the saltwater off them you can use distilled water. No tap H20 b/c of the chlorine. It is neat process in hatching Artemina which probably too much trouble for some one at home. Go with finely crushed flake food. Use an eye droper to insert the crushed flake food in tank they don't eat much.
