This pitching staff is going to sink the season unless they have some miraculous turn arounds. This harkens back to the old rebuild days.
Did they see something in Weiss? I mean he had a 7 ERA 2 years in a row in AAA before going to Korea where he was ok. I mean, maybe try him at AAA for a while instead of a crucial situation early in the season. Some of these pitching decisions are very suspect already.
Well glass half full - glass half empty I guess. Most of these runs are against guys that really were not expected to be great - Munoz, Bolton, Weiss and Roa. We already knew Abreu was a shitty closer, and Javier wants to eat himself out of the game. We really need someone to step up because trading fo any pitching will be tough this early. Fully healthy- I think the pitching is good enough for now, but we aren’t healthy.
Yes, Weiss has had some moments and the stuff is better. However, he didn’t cost the Astros a lot. I think he should be a reliever.
