Gosh those GSW screens are amazing. Goes to show you what happens when you have creative sets to free your shooters. Also, I found it interesting that they had a hockey guy on the coaching staff. Apparently one of his functions is to teach the players how to maintain balance while absorbing contact. I’m going to put this out there. Reed on a progressive team would be nearly unstoppable.
Draymond has a lot to do with how that team functions. I hate dude but he's really good. Sengun could learn a lot from him. Sengun has been a bit better lately about setting actual screens for Reed. Like yeah man imagine prime Adelman with Amen/Reed/Jabari/Sengun.
I think he has started 15-20 games this season now or 30 minutes of play and the stats are pretty damn good
The Rockets franchise player picked up his first ever flagrant foul against Dillon Brooks who was too scared to do anything about it.
Last 10 games, Sheppard and Sengun on the court Offensive rating 123.8 Defensive Rating 120.8 Net Rating 2.9 Primary starting lineup Offensive rating 120.4 Defensive Rating 125.9 Net Rating -5.5 The narrative that the defense is peachy with the Reed starting lineup is false. The Amen, Tari, JSJ, Durant, Sengun lineup, and any lineup with Sheppard and without Sengun are killing it.
When the Rockets completely flop on offense to start games, KD is the primary cause (followed by Alpi). I can't remember how many times he's started 1/6 or 1/7. At times it makes me wonder how he has maintained his 52%/41% for the season. It's because he usually finds his shot later after starting slow.
Yeah but just because it's the fault of others, you're still supposed to blame Reed as if you had a Celsius room temperature IQ. It's the Ime way.
Those offensive numbers are elite with Reed and Sengun. It is mostly that the Rockets struggle to defend with Sengun and Reed well enough for the improved offense to be worth it. Sure there are games that the starting lineup has an off start offensively, but I'd say it is mostly the defense that causes problems. It seems to be getting better, but it is slow. I didn't see last night's game other than pieces here and there, but noticed the start was very bad.
These people talking about false narratives are completely ridiculous, acting like their unbiased and neutral on the topic. They were the first ones to deep dive into how good the opponent was when Jalen Green was having a good stretch, that mattered when it went against their narrative. Now that it’s Reed, all games are equal. Noticing that Reed has struggled a lot against good teams with good guards and had his minutes heavily curated to have him sitting on a chair in those situations isn’t relevant. Draymond Green was just standing at the top of the key pointing at Reed the entire game to spread propaganda and spin a false narrative. Him being on the court for 36 seconds total versus Shai, Anthony Edwards, Luka Doncic, or Jamal Murray couldn’t possibly be an issue heading into the playoffs.
The start was definitely bad, a lot of really selfish play and terrible shot attempts by KD, Amen, and Sengun with KD, Sengun, and Jabari getting cooked on defense.... so Ime benched Reed and it got even worse to the point the Suns were up 21. Reed then got back on the court and they started to cut into that lead a bit. He was the only starter who wasn't a negative until the 4th quarter run
Sorry, were you actually watching those games? You’re literally spinning a fake narrative. That or it’s just addicting for people to look at lazy clues and ignore all objective data. You don’t have to think about or accuse people of complaining about agendas, you can address empirically and objective evidence which surprisingly you guys never seen to do. It’s always some hypothetical or how your eye test told you something someday on a particular play only Sheppard was blown by etc and nobody else gets beat. You brought up draymond and GS …so what have reeds numbers been vs Golden state this season? (All but last game with butler). What about Denver? What about Phoenix? Your first question could have been addressed easily with a simple google search (though if you’ve watched the rockets this season it’s obvious) why do you think Sheppard wasn’t shooting as much last game and why Jabari was open all game? Why don’t think every other starter has had their % and efficiency sky rocket? Why do you think the rockets went from being barely 500 to many multiple times better after above key change? it’s literal insanity from you folks at this point
